The Oscars may be a distant memory but the MTV Movie Awards was just as glam and a bit more edgy. I reckon it’s The Oscars’ cool younger sibling as it’s awards are determined by the public online. I’ll talk about the winners later on in this blog post but if some reason you think the wrong people won then you can’t complain as you should have got involved in the voting!
At the MTV Movie Awards there was no selfie (thank goodness) but there was an event that sent Twitter into meltdown. Live on stage Rita Ora ripped off Zac Efron’s shirt. He has a fine set of abs, doesn’t he? And talking of fine, I think Rita Ora looked sensational. Which leads me into a few of my fave fashion looks from the night….
Rita Ora showed the Brits can hold their own when it comes to fashion by keeping it classy in a long black maxi dress. The Resort batwing maxi dress at Very is low-cut on the cleavage area just like Rita’s. If you’re wearing black and keeping it elegant with the length you can get away with showing some front.
Jessica Alba showed a skirt is perfectly acceptable for an awards ceremony – particularly if it’s bright! This is a gorgeous colour for Spring and you can wear this colour with the Definitions jersey ponte wrap skirt.
Rihanna came on stage to perform Monster with Eminem dressed all in white to get attention. A white dress is a wardrobe must-have for summer – I’d try the Definitions open weave detail pencil dress.
Nicki Minaj was almost unrecgonisable in a black bodycon dress as she normally wears colourful outfits and wigs, but I love this more mature side of her and it shows off her beautiful curves to perfection. The South racer back maxi dress is an easy way to get Nicki’s look at Very and I’d imagine it’s very comfortable so you could party in it til the early hours of the morning!
