Red Carpet Gossip And Winners At British Soap Awards 2014

It’s a tough time of year for the soap stars. Just a week after the TV BAFTAs they had to find more eye-popping outfits for the British Soap Awards, which is the most glamorous night of the year for the soap industry. All the main four soaps – Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Eastenders and Hollyoaks – were well-represented and it was completely impossible to pick just one best-dressed from the night. So before I explain who won what, I’m picking my top two from each soap.

In Coronation Street (above), Michelle Keegan showed just why she’s won Sexiest Soap Actress for the sixth year running as she looked stunning in a monochrome trouser suit. The straight-leg trousers emphasise her fabulous figure and it’s really refreshing that she is brave enough to wear trousers on the red carpet. Bravery is sexy! Also taking a risk was Brooke Vincent, who went for a maxi skirt and a gold crop top rather than a dress. Now Michelle has quit the soap, maybe Brooke will take her Sexiest Female crown next year. Watch this space! Then check out the lovely Eastenders ladies below,

Charlie Brook, who plays scheming Janine, looked gorgeous in a black maxi dress. She’s so much more elegant when she’s not playing Janine, which shows just how good an actress she is to transform herself. The same goes for Jacqueline Jossa, who plays trouble Lauren Branning, as off screen she looks sweet and feminine. I quite like how the black and the lace and the blue complement each other – you don’t see this much but she makes it work and it is more attention grabbing than a plain black dress.

Hollyoaks was the main award winner of the night, winning the overall category Best Soap for the first time ever. They must have known they were winning, I think, as every single star looked like they were dressed for The Oscars. Stephanie Waring looked like an old school movie siren in a mermaid like gold maxi dress whereas Nikki Sanderson’s bandeau dress even had a train. Very special!

The Emmerdale ladies were more classically stylish in comparison. Natalie Anderson looked incredible in a red maxi dress whereas Charley Webb, a long-serving actress in the soap, showed she was an expert in dressing for awards ceremonies in a conventional black dress with a mesh twist. I liked it!

A greater unrddstaneing of your fellow employees is soooo important, not just from a social/team building perspective but also from a professional perspective.Lets say you have a problem you can’t solve. Do you know who to go to in your company to help?Enlightened companies have staff yellow pages (like an internal LinkedIn) so it’s easy to find expertise within their company. Far too many don’t have such capabilities however, so you’re left isolated almost, unaware of both what other people are doing (and therefore how you can help them) and how others can help you.In difficult times like this you have to make use of each and every employee. Is your company doing that?
