There’s nothing quite like making an impact than with a flawless make up look. Here at Very HQ were currently obsessing over the Metallic trend seen all over the catwalks of AW14 shows and on many celebs red carpet debuts. We were lucky enough to go behind the scenes of a recent photo shoot and get all the insider info on how to create this gorgeous look.
First of all to create the perfect base the make up artist applied a layer of Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfect Nude Foundation all over the face in a light circular buffing motion. Starting from the inside of the face and working your way out allows for an even coverage and stops you having a build up of foundation around your hair line. For an extra flawless look try adding the Elizabeth Arden Good Morning Primer underneath and apply your foundation with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
After perfecting the base the MUA moved on to the models eyes, using the Illamasqua Liquid Metal Palette the gold shade was blended across the models lid and winged out at the sides and underneath. *Top Tip* For the perfect winged out eye shadow use this guide line. Place one end of a make up brush at the end edge of your nose; place the other end of the brush at the most outer part of your eyebrow. That line is where your shadow should end; keep checking as you blend outwards. If you go too far it’s always easy to clean up with some Micellar Water. To finish the eye area apply a few layers of Mascara, and apply Rimmel Brow This Way to the brows keeping them groomed but natural.
Next up is how to create that fantastic pout! Purple shades work great on all skin tones and are great for Autumn & Winter beauty looks. Start by applying Bourjois Rouge Edition Shine Mauve Tabloid Lipstick all over lips. *Top Tip* For extra precision apply lipstick with a lip brush (@Very_BeautyTeam loves this Illamasqua Brush). Simply brush the bristles over your lipstick and apply as normal. You can then build the colour up slowly for a look that can be as dramatic as you please. Once the lipstick was applied the MUA took Elizabeth Arden’s latest gloss in Intriguing Violet and applied it all over the lips. The gloss gives an amazing shine without any stickiness; containing Maxi-Lip™ it helps support natural collagen for plumper, fuller looking lips. If you’re still a bit to scared to go for a full purple pout why not try the gloss by itself first, helping you to trial the trend before you fully commit.
As this look has strong eyes and lips, you need to keep everything else simple. When it came to cheeks the MUA simply sweeped a dusting of the latest Bourjois Bronzer across the models cheek bones, temples, hair line & chin. The new Bourjois Delice De Poudre Gold is the same as the original but with a touch of gold shimmer; this compliments the gold of the eyes perfectly without looking overdone.
Now onto the finishing touches! Hair was curled using ghds and then brushed out to give a beachy rock chick look. To keep the look in place a spritz of finishing spray was used. Nails need to be kept simple so the manicurist applied 2 coats of Metallic polish that helped the whole look pop! OPI Midnight in Moscow is our favourite metallic shade.
Once your nails are dried your ready to go. This look really will take you through the whole of next season. Why not recreate this look for yourself at home? If you do we would love to see it! Simply share it with us at @VeryNetwork & @Very_BeautyTeam on Twitter or @VeryUK on Instagram x
