London Fashion Week Trend Report

London Fashion Week seemed to pass in such a blur of shows it was almost impossible to take it in. Each show had a theme and because there were so many shows back to back, it was easy to forget stuff.

That’s why I thought it was useful to take a few minutes to remind ourselves of everything so we can be confident we are prepared for SS15 when these looks are going to be everywhere. Here are five common themes that came down the catwalk – the best of the best:

(1) Monochrome check

A couple of fashion designers paid homage to the black and white check on the catwalk but it seems Very is ahead of this trend. Check out the Glamorous monochrome check shift dress

(2) Monochrome Prints

Black and white doesn’t have to be dull when you can combine it with a crazy print. Check out the Amy Child’s Estelle monochrome shift dress if you want to start this look now!

(3) Yellow

Yellow automatically lifts your mood, well it does mine, so I was happy to see a lot of yellow dresses and yellow coats. This will brighten up the colder days.

(4) Pastel Coats and blouses

This was one of the trends in the #VeryOnTrend fashion show so it was cool to see that it was recreated on other catwalks. If everyone’s agreeing on it then it’s going to be a massive trend. These colours are really flattering and feminine – baby blue, baby pink and soft yellow.

(5) Matching bold prints

Talk about making a statement! Sometimes it’s good to be brave when it comes to fashion as you don’t earn respect by being boring in black. If you want to make an entrance / exit then check out the co-ordinates at Very for some similar items.

Do you have a favourite trend? I’m quite sad that fashion week is over now but at least it was a good one, full of inspirational fashion ideas.
