As the Fashion Week circus is almost over with the last of the models swishing down the catwalks in Paris, it’s time to look at what has happened in the month of September that will set the trend for SS15. It started in New York, moved onto London and then hit Milan and Paris and there’s been almost 500 fashion shows.
I have done a round-up of what happened at London Fashion Week but I think it’s only right to see what’s happened around the world. Fashion buyers follow the catwalks around the world so what comes down the catwalk in Milan and Paris will influence what we see in the shops next year and I don’t know about you, but I like to be ahead of the trends.
I’ve picked two key looks from each country:
Oscar De La Renta’s main look was monochrome check, which was similar to what I noticed in London. Very’s Glamorous monochrome check shift dress is a great place to start with this look – you can dress it up or down.
Gucci brought Boho back and gave it a 70s twist! I particular love the faux fur. The River Island PU sleeve fur jacket is a statement way of copying this look right now, there’s so much fur!
Chloe also had a boho vibe, but the key to this look was maxi dresses and gladiator sandals. Maxi dresses are really flattering so I’m happy about this one.
Cotton and linen were key at Celine, hinting that blouses will be popular come Spring. Every wardrobe needs a crisp white blouse because it’s really versatile. Have you got one?
So that’s it for now…until February 2015! I hope it’s given you as much fashion inpsiration as it’s given me.
