The X Factor is back for the 10th year and with Simon Cowell back on the judging panel the put-downs have started already. However, there is also a good supply of talent this time around. From cute teens now that Simon Cowell has lowered the entry age to 14 to mature voices like Chloe Thwala and Jay James, I was blown away by the first two episodes. Here are my personal favourites – see if you agree?
Blonde Ambtion (above)
The judges told them they were so bad that they were good and this sums it up. They’re like a female equivalent of Jedward, who had a long career despite not winning. I like the quirky ones!
The father-of-one took his 9 month old daughter to the audition but the cute factor wasn’t needed as his voice blew everyone away. Christina Aguilera’s Say Something will never sound the same again!
Chloe said she only auditioned because her son filled in the forms for her. He could be responsible for his mother’s future No 1 Hits because she could be the next Sam Bailey. With her sophisticated black pencil skirt and black top, her voice stood out even more.
Kitten and Hip
They auditioned as a pair but Simon Cowell said that only Kitten was good enough to go through. She ditched Hip, her boyfriend, immediately. Ouch!
Chloe Jasmine impressed all the judges with her 1940s blues voice. She’s super posh, and slightly annoying when she’s not singing, but she’s definitely memorable. With the voice and the unique personality she is one to watch. I liked her smart jacket and vintage style too!
Simon Cowell wasn’t impressed that Reece brought his guitar but once he opened his mouth both Mel and Cheryl thought he was super cute. Cowell is clearly looking for a teen heart-throb to rival One Direction and Reece could be a good candidate for that.
Lauren Nicole Platt
This girl has attitude! I liked her feistiness and in her long t-shirt she reminds me a bit of Cher Lloyd but without the sneer.
What do you think? I’m excited for week two already.
