Moody Noir #verywinteredit

Surrender your sensibilities and get ready to welcome the dark and decadent style that is Very’s Moody Noir trend…

Heavily influenced by Lanvin’s AW14 show, the Moody Noir trend is all about clean lines, leather, lace and mesh, slicked back hair, vampy red lips and, of course, lashings of dark moody appeal.

Designed to get you ready for the party season, the trend unleashes your love for everything dark, moody and decadent.

MN-Dresses

Giving you a taster of this fierce trend set to rock your AW wardrobe, we’ve put together our favourite pieces to help you shop the look with ease.

First up is the prom style skater dress from Coleen Rooney’s latest collection (shown above left and centre). Clashing equally decadent fabrics, the lace bodice gives your look a hint of vintage boudoir, while the satin skirt, with netting beneath, creates a smooth counter to the fabric above adding shape and flirt too.

To the right of this piece is French Connection’s mesh cut-out dress with intricate spot print. Sexy and sultry, this dress, like the Moody Noir trend is all about sexy, party styles where slicked back hair and a red lip complete your outfit.

MN-Jumpsuit

Above is the lace jumpsuit by French Connection – the High Street brand showing their love for the dark and decadent styles that Moody Noir encompasses. With a daring V-neck, delicate lace sleeves with frill and slouchy straight leg trouser, this piece is a moody alternative to the classic LBD that does the rounds come party season.

MN-Cape-Dress

Creating a look worthy of a silver screen temptress, this off-the-shoulder dress by AX Paris works in a touch of retro inspiration. Again, the lines are clean, the look understated except for the oversized frill and the accessories minimal. A sleek of red lipstick and pair of leather gladiator heels add the finish touch to your sleek gothic style.

MN-Leather-Trousers-and-jacket

The outfit above is one of my key looks for the Moody Noir trend. It demonstrates perfectly the careful balance needed between fabric and texture clashes as well as showing that your look, although dark, can have a softer side. The skinny leather trousers make the edgy statement you’re looking for from this look, while the soft, faux fur jacket adds a plush texture and the necklace is a dramatic finish.

One piece that I haven’t mentioned is the leather maxi dress by Myleene Klass featured on the banner image. With a fishtail hem, cut-out to the neckline and strappy back, this piece truly embodies Moody Noir. It’s bold, statement-making, is made from buttery soft leather and is the ultimate in gothic perfection. Crafted for special occasions only, this floor-length dress is a feisty piece that will have tongues wagging until next party season.
