Taylor Swift is finally on her Christmas holidays and if anyone deserves a break she does! Straight after her album 1989 had the best selling release week ever and she became the first artist to sell a million albums in 2014, she came to London for the Victoria’s Secret Show and Jingle Bell Ball then flew back to the US to celebrate her 25th birthday with Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Jay-Z. With all this, it’s surprising she manages to keep stylish (I’d be living in a onesie or jogging bottoms after so much running round) but Taylor kept up her flawless image as she ran errands in New York recently.
The piece de resistance of her outfit was her blue duster coat. To be honest, we can’t even see what’s underneath but when paired with a cute hat and chic handbag, we’d immediately say she’s made an effort. The coat is a lovely blue colour just like the South fluffy edge to edge coat and I reckon you could get away with wearing something comfy underneath. Talking of comfort, the Under Armour cable knit beanie would keep your head warm and enhance your outfit. Accessorise with a Taylor Swift style Mink Hero padlock tote bag and some Hush Puppies Sissany bow leather court shoes and Shake It Out – you’re Winter ready!
Even if you’re not a fan of pastel blue you can still wear this look as they key to it is a duster coat that can be layered on top of anything to instantly smarten up your look. A duster coat doesn’t have buttons so it’s laidback and effortless and it’s a longline coat so it’s great for Winter and flattering if you want to hide things underneath. As well as the pastel blue one at Very, I really like the black one from AX Paris and the Love Label yellow swing coat makes me feel brighter just looking at it. I’m sure it would make leaving the house in the dark in the morning better as it’s like wearing the sun, even if you can’t see it in the sky.
Are you on the duster trend yet? If not, what’s stopping you?
