Top 10 Party Dresses Of 2014

Have you had a good year? Hoping for an even better 2015? I hope so!

Some celebrities have had a really positive 2014 and I think we can learn from them to make sure we see in 2015 in style on New Year’s Eve and be the best dressed when going out to parties and social events throughout the year

So let’s take a few moments to reflect on the showbiz world’s biggest award ceremonies and parties:

(1) Kate Hudson at the Oscars

It’s a deep v-neck but Kate owned it! Plus she followed the golden rule of covering your legs if you’re flashing cleavage. A white dress always stands out.

(2) Lupita N’yongo at the BAFTAs

Lupita N’yongo emerged as one of the world’s favourite actresses this year and one of our red carpet faves too. Nobody wears colour as good as Lupita and I loved the green dress she wore to the BAFTAs.

(3) Mila Kunis at The Golden Globes

Before she announced her pregnancy, Mila Kunis looked radiant at the Golden Golbe Awards. It must have been partly because she was exopecting but I do think the silver colour would have helped to lift her complexion further. I love silver dresses!

(4) Anne Hathaway at The Oscars

I don’t often think black dresses are deserving of being on best dressed lists but Anne Hathaway’s black maxi dress is especially nice because of the embellishment. I like the straight shape of the skirt too – the column shape is super slimming.

(5) Rosie Huntington Whiteley at AMFAR in Cannes

Rosie was like a ray of sunshine at the AMFAR charity gala in Cannes in this yellow dress. I have never thought about wearing yellow before, being quite scared of how bright it is, but if the dress fits you well then why not use colour to get everyone to pay attention. I’m sure a dress like this would get tons of compliments.

(6) Sarah Hyland at The Golden Globes

Not only is this my fave colour – hot pink – but the bodycon shape into a fishtail skirt is super flattering without being flashy. The colour reminds me of a Definitions dress at Very. Like her Modern Family co-star Sophia Vergara, Sarah Hyland is one to watch as she always wears some killer outfits.

(7) Taylor Swift at German Radio Awards

Taylor has gorgeous legs so quite rightly wants to show them off. I had to put one of her outfits into this list to show you don’t always need a maxi dress and I especially liked this monochrome dress as it demands attention!

(8) Cate Blanchett at the Oscars

Cate collected a golden statue for Best Actress at this year’s awards while wearing a gold dress. How appropriate! Gold is the colour of success.

(9) Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is a role model for girls with curves. She looked sensational in her scarlet maxi dress giving new meaning to the term ‘red hot’. Fresh from her Christmas duet with Olly Murs, 2015 will be a great year for her.

(10) Charlize Theron at the Golden Globes

Elegant and chic, Charlize looked statuesque in a strapless maxi dress. If you colour block as well as this you don’t need any sparkles or embellishment as the dress speaks for itself.

What do you think? Which dress did you like the most? And most importantly, do you know what you’re wearing on New Year’s Eve yet?
