Glow lights at the ready for the 2015 festival guide!

A brand new year means a brand new set of memories to be made and where better to make memories than at a festival!  Being a keen festival goer, here’s a pick of the Dance festivals of 2015 I feel are a must – along with essentials any festival goer would need for their trip!

Snowbombing Monday 6th– Saturday 11th April

Snowbombing -top of the Penken Lift

For one week in April, the picturesque Austrian Village of Mayrhofen is taken over by electronic music lovers, keen to take advantage of its magical location. Celebrating its 15th year in 2014 “the greatest show on snow” boasts 650 km of piste ready for snowboarders & skiers alike, and is spread across 17 venues, which include igloos, mountain stages, a tennis centre which converts into a 2,500 capacity club and a forest, making this festival unlike any other. Whilst the top of the mountain is covered in snow, the village of Mayrhofen is surprisingly warm making it the perfect place to hold a festival of this kind- it even has its own pool party! This year headliners include Rudimental, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and Gorgon City.

For this festival you’ve got to make sure you wrap up warm! Especially if you plan on raving in Igloo! For men the Superdry Mens Hooded Arctic Pop Windcheater or for the women the Jack Wolfskin Zenon Jacket to stay warm but stylish!

Parklife Festival Saturday 6th– Sunday 7th June

Parklife

First held in Plattfield Park 2010, Parklife quickly grew in popularity & size so moved to the much bigger location of Heaton Park.  A younger crowd descends via trams and coaches to the Manchester park which has seen massive concerts such as Oasis and the Rolling stones.   This festival is spread over two days but isn’t a camping festival- so expect to travel to & from the park, a lot of people choosing to stay in Manchester city centre. Despite being predominantly dance music, last year also seen acts such as Snoop & Bastille on the main stage. 2015’s line up is yet to be announced so watch this space!

As this is a British festival, make sure you’re well prepared to avoid soggy feet by wearing the festival wellies of choice- Hunter Original Tall Wellingtons for men & Hunter Original Slim Zip Wellys- Bright Coral are a brilliantly bright alternative for women.

Hideout Festival Sunday 28th June- Thursday 2nd July

Hideout- Novalja Beach

The aptly named ‘Hideout Festival’ is hidden away behind trees on a pebble beach on the Croatian Island of Pag. The 4 festival venues stretch across the Zcre beach strip, where you can find festival goers drinking cocktails from vases and ‘shuffling’ until the sun comes up in trainers & bikini’s.  Croatia is quickly becoming one of the top festival destinations in the world, also hosting festivals such as Outlook, Secret Garden Party and Dimensions to name but a few, and despite that it will only be celebrating its 5th year in 2015, Hideout has certainly established itself in the dance music festival world.  This year’s line up includes Duke Dumont, Gorgon City, MK & Sigma.

Nike trainers are the footwear of choice for this festival- ensuring you can party right through the night.  Nike Air Max Mens 1 Leather Trainers will look good with any shorts & vest combination whilst girls can match their brightly colored bikinis with the Nike Air Max Thea Trainers

Tomorrowland Friday 24th– Sunday 26th July

Tomorrowland 2

Held in the Belgium town Boom (a rather fitting name), Tomorrowland celebrated its 10th year last year.  Famous for its outrageous stage decorations (something that brings to mind flower power meets midsummer night’s dream) the 15 stages are spread over 75 hectares of De Schorre recreation area. Tomorrowland has also stretched to over the pond now is also due to be held in Brazil & Atlanta this year. Last years line up was filled with over 200 DJ’s and producers so it will be exciting to see what line up is released for this year.

As this is a camping festival abroad- think about traveling as light as possible. Jack Wolfskin Denali 65-Litre Trekking Ruck Sack is perfect to pack everything you need whilst remaining comfortable. Carry all you essentials for the weekend such as the easy to pitch Yellowstone Ascent 3-Person Tent

Creamfields Friday 28th – Sunday 30th August

Creamfields

Held on the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, Creamfields began on 17 years ago as a spin off of Liverpool nightclub Cream.  Thousands of clubbers head into the fields to see world renowned DJ’s play across two outdoor stages and six high top tents. Held every August Bank holiday, Creamfields is the perfect way in which to end the summer and many of the revellers are seen back there year after year to experience the great atmosphere and amazing music- Cream hasn’t become a global dance brand for nothing! Last year saw DJ’s such as Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Tiesto, Hardwell & Axwell & Ingreosso play- & everyone is in anticipation waiting for 2015 acts to be released.

For any camping festival, Yellowstone has a great range of essentials. Don’t waste any precious dancing time blowing up beds with their Self Inflating Mat with Pillow and Dry Sac , for the time that you do spend sitting in the campsite their Deluxe Inflatable Double Armchair is perfect, whilst the Essential Festival Pack has everything that you may need for the day ahead (even a glow stick!)
