Skiing in Style by Leanne

Ski season is well and truly upon us, and if you want to look good on the slopes this winter, Very have lots of the essentials to help you stay cool whilst keeping warm! So here are a few of the essentials…starting from the top!

Head

You see some wacky headwear whilst on the slopes but the main aim is to keep your head & ears warm & protected against the elements. If you are looking for something sporty why not try the THE NORTH FACE Mens Reversible Beanie for two looks in one, or the UNDER ARMOUR Cable Knit Beanie which is specially lined in order to retain your own body heat.

Sunglasses are not what first come to mind when thinking of the frosty mountain tops, but if it is a clear and sunny day, you need to protect your eyes from the glare of the snow. Eyewear brand of choice on the slopes is Oakley, so why not try the Oakley Straight Jacket Sunglasses specifically designed to have increased grip as you perspire as well as protecting you from any harmful rays. If Oakley’s aren’t for you, you can never go wrong with a pair of Raybans and the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses – Black will be able to take you right through until summer.

Body

Layers are the best thing to keep you toasite in the cold weather, so if it’s a particularly cold day ensure that you put long Johns under your saloppetes. Men can wear the Nike Mens Element Thermal Tights or the Calvin Klein Men’s Thermal Long Johns whilst women can go for the Intimates Essentials Thermal Leggings (2 Pack) and either opt for the Intimates Essentials Thermal Long Sleeved Tops (2 Pack) or the Intimates Essentials Thermal Camisole Tops (2 Pack) to match.

Accessories

After sitting in the ski shop store room or ski locker all night, ski boots can become very chilly – why not warm them up by activating the Yellowstone Reusable Hand Warmer (Twin Pack) and popping them into your boots for a few moments before you slide your boots on ready for a days skiing/snowboarding. As they are reusable you can do this every day, and the removable fleece covers mean that you will be able to wash them if they begin to pong!

Believe it or not, it is very easy to get sunburnt whilst skiing! Because of the chill in the air you often will not feel it. Make sure you are protected by using Murad Essential-C Sun Balm Broad Spectrum – SPF 35 9g, as it is a travel size its handy to keep in your pocket and apply whilst on the go without making a mess.

If you feel you cant fit all of your essentials for the day in your coat pockets, plan on a longer days trip or want to take you lunch with you to dine al fresco on the slopes, keep everything together in the Jack Wolfskin Berkley Ruck Sack. Its extra wide straps will help keep the extra load on your back comfortable throughout the day & the extra compartments to the front will mean you will be able to access your essentials quickly and easily.
