I love lingerie! I like the feel of something silky next to my skin, I like the way good underwear improves my shape so clothes hang better and most of all, I love the confidence I get from knowing I have something fabulous on underneath everything.
If you’re like me then get ready for some inspiration! Cosmopolitan Magazine came up with the best idea ever to host a night specifically devoted to lingerie and I went along to check out the upcoming trends and see what seductive smalls we may be able to get our hands on soon. The event had a 50 Shades of Grey theme, to mark the fact that the film starring Jamie Dornan is released in cinemas on 13 February, but if anything I’d say the theme should have been 50 shades of fabulousness! There were so many beautiful pieces on display and many are available at Very straight away. Very had its own booth at the event so we were able to get close and touch it too, and trust me these feel as good as they look.
Have a look at my photo highlights and get inspired:
Navy blue is a colour I don’t have enough of in my underwear drawer but looking at what came down the catwalk, I’m totally changing that. It’s dark so its flattering but less stark than black.
I really liked a purple set that came down the catwalk. It’s similar to a sexy red but less obvious.
White is the colour of romance so if you’re looking for something for Valentine’s Day that’s flirty and teasing, consider white lingerie.
Light blue can be just as beautiful as dark and this one is great for girly girls. It reminds me of the Fantasie Julie lingerie set.
Black suddenly got a lot more interesting this season with the addition of some twists, quite literally. If you want to blow His mind with the structure of your bra then check out something with a bit of added ribbon like the super sexy Myleene Klass feathers embroidered plunge half padded bra.
I love pink but it’s the cover up that really makes this. Check out the Sorbet Boutique ribbon trim mesh babydoll at Very to blow everyone’s mind.
If you can’t decide between white or black then do both! The detail will draw the eye to the underwear itself, taking attention away from your figure if you weren’t feeling confident before you put it on. Look at the lovely Ann Summers Victoria plunge bra at Very for a monochrome set like this.
Here’s a snap of some of the lingerie I saw (and felt) in Very’s booth which was just a selection of all the gorgeous lingerie available at Very right now..
And there was also an important message for the evening thanks to the Breast Cancer charity Coppafeel. They also had a stand at the booth, highlighting in a fun way the need for us girls to check our breasts regularly. Coppafeel’s messages to check our breasts are also sewn into Very’s lingerie by the sizing label – a gentle reminder for us all to take charge of our health.
What colour was your favourite? Are you excited about Valentine’s Day? Whatever you do, have a love-ly one!
