Pride Of Britain Awards: Top 10 Red Carpet Looks

The Pride of Britain awards are one of my favourite awards ceremonies of the year as they honour real people who have done extraordinary things and shown incredible courage and generosity. The human achievements of these people is truly astounding and there are boxes of tissues on every table as most celebrities are in tears by the end of the night. It’s on TV in the UK on Thursday 1 October and I do suggest watching with a box of Kleenex.

The good thing about these awards is they attract all kinds of celebs, because they just have to make an effort when they hear about the stories the winners have been through. This also makes it one of the most glamorous awards of the year, which is appropriate as it is a celebration after all. Here are my personal favourite celebration looks:

(1) Cheryl Fernandez Versini

Cheryl looked stunning in a midnight blue maxi dress with her hair up. That was a dress with the wow factor and I think she looks almost royal in it!

(2) Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh

Girls Aloud fans went crazy when Chery met up with two of her former bandmates on the red carpet. Kimberly Walsh looked stunning in a black lace jumpsuit, while Nicola went for a classic red maxi dress and channeled old school Hollywood glamour. In Girls Aloud they used to dress similarly, so it’s great to see them find and develop their own styles.

(3) Amanda Holden

Amanda Holden looked incredible in a floaty red maxi dress. It flowed as she walked and I for one would love to try dancing in it as you could make some great shapes!

(4) Alesha Dixon

Alesha’s bodycon maxi dress hugged her curves beautifully, meaning that she really stood out on the red carpet. Bodycon always gets me in the mood to party because it’s flattering and when you look in the mirror you feel confident that you look good – the perfect start to a night.

(5) Rochelle Humes

Very designer Rochelle – the new host of the Xtra Factor, went for a ballgown style maxi dress and I love how it emphasises her small waist. This would be a good dress if a formal dinner is involved as the shape makes you look smaller and it’s comfortable.

(6) Katie Piper

Katie wore on of the brightest evening dresses of the night, channeling her inner Grecian Goddess. How gorgeous does she look?!

(7) Pixie Lott

Pixie’s dress was similar to Katie’s in shape but the mint green colour was pretty spectacular. On the occasions where you want to stand out and say Look At Me, a green dress will help.

(8) Myleene Klass

Wearing leather on a red carpet is brave, but Myleene Klass pulled it off with her black maxi dress as the shape is simple. It’s a dress for a cold night as leather does get pretty hot pretty quickly.

(9) Caroline Flack

You don’t always have to wear a maxi dress at a posh event as a Little Black Dress works for all occasions. If you don’t feel comfortable in an extravagant maxi dress then keep it simple and classic and Caroline shows it still looks hot.

(10) Una Foden

I like how girly Una’s cream dress is. What it lacks in length compared to the maxi dresses, it more than makes up for in detail and the cinched in waist with prom skirt is super flattering.

Who do you think looked the best? Don’t forget your tissues when you watch the show on TV.
