Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Who Are The Stars?

Strictly Come Dancing is back! Week One will involve 15 celebrities, all covered in sequins and glitter and flashing the flesh in statement dresses and rather snug men’s suits.

Let’s look at who hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly introduced as contestants at the launch party!

I want to focus on the female celebs as those are the ones we can get outfit inspiration from (well in colours at least), so here’s a bit of info on the ladies. They all have a lot to live up to as Tess Daly proved she knows how to do this show in style in her blue maxi dress while Claudia’s learning well in her embellished black maxi dress.

Kirsty Gallacher

Kirsty, dressed in pink,  is one of the favourites to win as she’s best friends with Caroline Flack – last year’s winner. She’s currently a presenter for Sky Sports News and has covered major sporting events such as the Ryder Cup, Wimbledon and the Olympics.

Georgia May Foote

Actress Georgia May Foote went to stage school, so she should be good at this. She certainly looked the part in her backless dress.

Helen George

Helen’s doing this to get over a nasty break-up as it was just announced she’s split from her husband. Helen is one of the stars in Call The Midwife alongside Miranda Hart.

Jamelia said she is doing this for her two daughters, to impress them. I hope she does well! The Loose Women panellist and former singer has had eight UK top 10 singles including Superstar and That Boy is Mine, but can she move?

Anita Rani

Anita hasn’t got a massive profile yet, so she’s hungry to do well to stay in the competition longer. She’s presented segments on The One Show and Countryfile, and must be hoping this is her big break. Good luck to her! But is her gold dress tempting fate?

Katie Derham

The host of The Proms on the BBC was due to go on Strictly 10 years ago but her bosses refused her the time off saying she was too busy. I hope she makes up for lost time. She certainly looks the part in her purple dress.

Carol Kirkwood

The BBC weather presenter looked deliriously happy at the launch party. Spinning around in a bright dress must be a lot better than forecasting dull weather and rain in the UK.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing? Check out these ladies and the guys Peter Andre, Anthony Ogogo, Ainsley Harriot, Iwan Thomas, Daniel O’Donnell, Jay McGuinness on 5 September on BBC One.
