Harpers Bazaar Women Of The Year: Winners And Fashion

I love an awards ceremony and there was something truly special about the Harper’s Bazaar Women of The Year awards as it was all about fabulous, strong and successful women. As it was held in London’s five star Claridge’s Hotel, the dress code was ‘glamorous’ and guests all met for a Champagne reception followed by a three course meal. Who said stars don’t know how to let their hair down?

It was great to see so many A’list actresses support each other and it was the perfect timing for this event. Now it’s pre-Christmas party season we can look at what the celebs wore and remember it when we’re dressing for our own parties. Let’s have a look at what everyone wore and then afterwards, I’ll list who won awards.

Sienna Miller

Sienna has attended a lot of red carpet events recently as she’s promoting her movie Burnt, but she still hasn’t run out of ways to dazzle as she shone in a grey maxi dress. I don’t see this colour worn much on the red carpet, but I think we may see it more soon as it’s flattering without being OTT. Understated glamour.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole who is in London starring in the West End in Photograph 51 took a risk with an embellished black maxi dress but she pulled it off as she knows what suits her. I’ve seen her dress like this before and it suits her because she’s tall and she has more length on the dress to play with. If you’re not one for taking risks, I think try it and the worse that can happen is you look in the mirror and decide it’s not for you after all but if you get it right you get tons of compliments as you’ll look so different.

Lara Stone

I do love a jumpsuit and Lara shows why it’s a classic piece that gives off the impression that the wearer is brave and effortlessly cool. Lara looks absolutely fierce in this black jumpsuit.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie looked incredible in a white maxi dress, showing that white really does attract attention – in a good way. Her hair seems less shocking than at the MTV awards too. This is a simple and classic look so she wants to keep her hair and make-up smooth and sleek.

Kate Winslet

Kate played it classic in a monochrome midi bodycon dress. I think this is a good day to night dress, if you had to go from the office to an event. What makes it suitable for night is the killer heels. How sharp are Kate’s black stilletoes?

Lily James

Lace is so on trend this season and Lily showed how lovely and feminine a lace maxi dress can make us look. Lily’s had a great year since Cinderella and has tons of films planned for 2016 so we should be seeing a lot more of her. I’m glad as I love her girly style that is feminine but still seriously fashionable.

And the winners are:

Breakthrough: Lily James

British Icon: Kate Winslet

Television Icon: Michelle Dockery

Musician: Ellie Goulding

Theatre Icon: Nicole Kidman

British Actress: Sienna Miller

Breakthrough Designer: Mary Katzantrou

Model: Lara Stone

Man of The Year: Erdem

Who do you think had the best outfit? Personally, I like Lara Stone’s jumpsuit.
