MTV Movie Awards 2016: Award Winning Fashion

When MTV hosts a party, they do it in style. Hours of preparation must have gone into the MTV Movie Awards as there were lots of comedy gold moments and the show itself was just as entertaining as the films that won. There’s a list of who won what at the end so you can see what the best movies to watch are, and what was especially cool was that British actress Daisy Ridley won an award for her role in Star Wars. She looked stunning too!

A lot of preparation must have been put in by the celebrities to work out what they were going to wear as there were some seriously head-turning outfits. This could be because when supermodels like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are presenting awards, the actresses know they can’t look casual in comparison. Here’s a look at some of the best MTV Movie Awards party outfits:

Cara Delevingne

Cara’s been keeping quite a low profile recently so it was cool to see her back on the red carpet. She’s lost none of her supermodel style, keeping things elegant in a black jumpsuit. She’s never been a girly dresser and a jumpsuit makes her look strong and powerful while the velvet material gives it a playful edge. Welcome back, Cara!

Kendall Jenner

Cara’s BFF Kendall Jenner looked like a Grecian Goddess in her black maxi dress and  super high black gladiator sandals. She was up on stage to introduce Ariana Grande and if I was Ariana I would not have been happy about sharing the stage with such a stunning celeb.

Daisy Ridley

Daisy Ridley looked super cool in a mini dress. When other stars were wearing maxi dresses or midi dresses, Daisy showed she had an individual sense of style as well as lovely legs. She was a great ambassador for British stars, showing we can do movies just as well as the Americans.

Gigi Hadid

I wouldn’t want to mess with Gigi Hadid! She looks like she means business in her formal suit. When wearing a suit, make it more feminine by adding heels and wearing your hair down just like Gigi. Her boyfriend Zayn Malik is one lucky man!

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain stuck to her tried-and-tested formula with a figure-hugging black maxi dress that showed off all of her curves. If you’ve got it, flaunt it! And she’s covering her legs so she gets away with showing her top half.

Charlize Theron

Charlize is almost 20 years older than the likes of Gigi, Kendall and Cara, but age means experience and the Oscar-winning actress had a lot of experience dressing for red carpets. Her black midi dress is divine – showing her gorgeous legs off but keeping things classy and elegant. What do you think?

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande had to make an effort with her appearance as she was performing after Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid introduced her. It can’t have been easy to follow two supermodels but her bluesy performance of Dangerous Woman kept everyone on the edge of their seats. A white faux fur coat adds glamour and luxury to any look.

How glamorous was all that! Would you have worn a jumpsuit or trouser suit or a dress if you’d been there? Cara and Gigi show that trousers can make a woman look powerful when they arrive at a party – what do you think?
