British Soap Awards 2016: Best Dressed

You can count on Soap stars to dress up for an awards ceremony. Eastenders, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks stars have to act out such dramatic and tense storylines on screen, so when they get a chance to relax they want to let their hair down and look glamorous.

The Soap Awards is their chance to dress up and show how pretty they can look off screen and everyone spends all day getting ready. This year was no exception as there were some seriously gorgeous dresses in the auditorium of London’s Hackney Empire. For our summer parties and big nights out, we can take inspiration from what the celebs were wearing.

These stars did particularly well with their outfits:

Stephanie Waring

The Hollyoaks actress looked as glam as a Hollywood movie star in a red maxi dress as she walked the red carpet at the awards. I love the pleats of her dress as they create a gorgeous, feminine look and really flatter her figure. A dress with a full-skirt makes anyone’s waist look slimmer.

Nikki Sanderson

Nikki also went for a red maxi dress, but I love the sparkles in hers. A sequin dress always stands out on a night out and gets you in the party mood when you look at yourself in the mirror. I think she looks stunning – what do you think?

Kym Marsh

The Coronation Street star looked so elegant in her red strapless maxi dress. I absolutely love the fishtail effect, which shows off her hourglass shape. You can tell by her smile that she feels good and that’s because she looks good. If you are thinking of wearing a red dress, it’s important to know that it fits you well as that adds to your confidence.

Jacquelie Jossa

The Eastenders actress also wore a red dress and looked very pretty – I can see a trend going on for red dresses now. She’s definitely lost all her baby weight now and looks fantastic.

Lacey Turner

Not everyone wore red! I was really captivated by Lacey’s canary yellow dress – I think the Eastenders actress looks fabulous. I’ve seen more celebs wear yellow dresses recently. Now that it’s summer, it’s a really appropriate colour to wear. I like that she’s kept it simple with the shape and found something classic and flattering and uses the colour to draw attention to the dress that fits her perfectly.

Lucy Jo Hudson

The Coronation Street star enhanced her light tan in a white maxi dress. She looked bronzed and beautiful in this classic maxi dress. The gold heels are a nice extra touch as white and gold go so well together.

Gemma Atkinson

The Hollyoaks actress went for a classic black maxi dress, but what I like about it is that the halterneck detail looks super elegant, especially with her hair up. This is a really classy dress and Gemma stands out because she’s showing off a bit of shoulder while keeping everything else under wraps. I do like a halterneck dress!

However, it seems red is a fashionable colour to wear this summer. What do you think? Or do you prefer yellow? Let’s hope there are a lot of parties this summer so we can wear both!
