Florals instantly brighten up an outfit and make us feel more feminine and carefree! Just look at actress Isla Fisher (above left), who was photographed walking through London in a lovely floral midi dress.
She’s a busy mum-of-three, married to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen of Ali G and Borat fame, writes her own collection of kids’ books and looks incredible! The secret to this has to be having a lot of outfits that are easy to wear in the sense that they’re not too tight or restrictive, nor are they in light colours if you have kids, but that make you feel fantastic the moment they’re on. Florals do this as they’re so uplifting with the colours providing warmth so you look like you’ve made an effort even if you’ve just thrown the dress on in two minutes.
Florals suit everyone as they can be worn many ways. Here are three of my favourite ways:
(1) The bodycon floral
Pink flowers on a black dress go so well together and the lace on this Lipsy floral print lace strappy dress makes it so girly and gorgeous. This is how you’d wear the floral trend for a night out and it looks great on most shapes and sizes as the bodycon effect flatters all physiques and shows off womanly curves. With this you don’t need to spend time looking for accessories as the dress does all the talking.
(2) The day dress floral
This Joe Browns tea for two dress is so easy to wear – it’s loose and flowy so it’d keep you cool but you can throw on a cute cardigan over the top and still look feminine. The colours on the tea dress brighten up the dress so you feel like you’re ready for anything – looking good makes us feel more positive.
(3) The prom dress floral
This is a way to wear the floral trend for a formal occasion like a wedding. It is a flattering shape as the cinched in waist and wide skirt creates an hourglass effect. The loose skirt also makes it cool for a summers day. What do you think of the V by Very bandeau panel floral prom dress above?
But to really look like a celebrity like Isla in a floral dress, you need some accessories like shoes and sunglasses. Isla’s berry shoes perfectly offset the floral colours, just like the Dune Mary Jane court shoes. The cute sunglasses are similar to the Michael Kors catseye sunglasses.
What do you think of the floral trend? I’m up for anything that saves time!
