Strictly Come Dancing: Launch Party Fashion Inspiration

Strictly Come Dancing is one of the things that makes the transition from summer to autumn and winter a little bit more bearable. The weather may not be as warm and the nights are getting darker earlier, but our TV screens are alight with glitter and sequins and celebrities doing something they’re not naturally good at. It’s kind of refreshing to see celebs out of their comfort zones!

And of course, it’s fun to look at what they’re wearing as there is always so much colour. We may not have access to so much sparkle, but we can definitely copy the colour. Let’s have a look at what the female contestants and presenters wore to the launch party ahead of the show’s start on Saturday 3 September.

Laura Whitmore

Laura dazzled in a yellow dress and we’ve seen a lot of celebrities wearing yellow recently to parties – it definitely gets people noticed. It’s also great if you’ve managed to get a bit of a tan this summer as it gives you a really golden glow so you feel bright and upbeat even when it’s no longer sunny.

Daisy Lowe

Daisy looked stunning in a red midi dress, which showed off all of her curves. It’s more revealing than most dresses but a bodycon dress always shows that you’re ready to party. Bodycon dresses are flattering as they hold you in all the right places and that makes you feel fantastic.

Naga Munchetty

Naga also went for a red dress, showing that red is bold and beautiful. She seems quite a shy and serious character on BBC Breakfast TV, but she’s completely changed in this dress, sometimes wearing something bold and daring can give you more confidence.

Anastacia

The singer is one of the hot favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing because of her musical experience and she certainly looks good in her outfit. A blue dress with long sleeves makes it seem as if you’re trying less hard than a red dress but it still look sensational. Blue also works really well with gold.

Tameka Empson

Comedian Tameka opted for a predominantly mint green dress, which looked stunning in the lights. Green is a hard colour to wear but if you’re willing to take a risk it will get you noticed for being different and people will wish they were more adventurous!

Louise Redknapp

Louise is a former pop star with Eternal, so she knows how to move. She could do really well! She channeled her girly side in a pink maxi dress, looking pretty and feminine. What do you think?

Claudia Fragapane

Claudia’s a former British gymnast so she must have rhythm, but has she got the  hip-swinging Latin vibes as gymnastics can be rigidly choreographed? Wearing a dress with tassels will help get her in the mood. It’s amazing how wearing clothes can affect our morale and fire us up for new challenges.

Zoe Ball

As the host of the Strictly spin-off show on BBC 2, Zoe doesn’t have to go near the dancefloor so she showed she meant business as a presenter with smart black trousers and a pretty green blouse. This is a lovely look for work, don’t you think?

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly

Claudia and Tess are a bit of a double act so when Tess went for a dark blue maxi dress, Claudia had to be the yin to her yang in a bright pink maxi dress. They always complement each other well – I can’t wait to see their fun chemistry when the series starts again.

Are you excited about Strictly starting again? Who do you think will win?
