Red Magazine’s Women Of The Year Awards: Party Outfits

There are a lot of award ceremonies in the showbiz calendar but there aren’t that many supporting women. For that reason, Red Magazine’s Women Of The Year Awards attracted a lot of strong, powerful female celebrities who wanted to celebrate their colleagues. All too often, there are rumours about rivalry and bitchiness among women at the top and the celebs gathered together at the Skylon restaurant in London to show that wasn’t the case.

The awards had a real party atmosphere with each award going to an inspiring real person or a celebrity that had achieved something outside of their work. It left the audience empowered and hopeful that they could make a difference. And everyone was also looking at each other’s outfits. When girls get together, we’re always looking at what everyone else is wearing, aren’t we? The celebs are no exception!

With the party season coming up, it’s useful to have a look at what everyone’s wearing. At this event, the stars seemed to wear striking blacks and whites. Let’s have a closer look:

Fearne Cotton

Fearne wore one of the new season’s popular bardot dresses, which gave it an almost vintage effect. Fearne’s always had her own sense of style, which is quirky but pretty and this dress is no exception. Monochrome prints are great for getting noticed too!

Izzy Bizu

Izzy performed a couple of songs before the awards started and while she’s up and coming and not many guests had heard of her when she started, they certainly had by the time she’d finished. Her outfit gave her stage presence as people couldn’t stop looking at the black PU trousers. They looked gorgeous with a cute black bomber jacket.

Millie Mackintosh

Millie wore a chic black jumpsuit in a sumptuous velvet material, showing that a jumpsuit can be just as gorgeous as a dress. It’s a simple look but the fabric of the jumpsuit does all the work so all you need are some black shoes and a red lip and you’re ready to go.

Melanie C

Like Millie, Mel C also wore velvet but hers was in the form of a black maxi dress. It really suited her as the bodycon dress highlighted her slender physique. Her solo album;s out this Friday and then she’s got a tour so she’s clearly been in the gym in preparation. Sporty Spice looked stunning!

Joanne Froggatt

The former Downton Abbey actress looks a world apart from her dowdy maid character in a pretty white midi dress. This dress, which is full of embellishment, celebrates all things girly and Joanne wears it well, It must be a nice change for her to wear white after having to wear a black maid outfit in Downton.

Helen George

Helen rose to fame in Call The Midwife, but she’s left all trace of the dowdy nun’s outfit on set and looks so different. Her light pink hair looks very cool, doesn’t it? It works perfectly with her white maxi dress as she looks so fresh and fashionable. She’s wearing this dress, rather than it wearing her as she stands with poise and attitude.

Lisa Snowden

The mdoel turned Radio DJ kept it classic in a black bodycon dress that highlighted her toned physique. Sometimes, wearing something simple but fabulously fitted helps you stand out more as you look amazing but it doesn’t look like you’ve tried too hard so you look super cool. It’s the fashion equivalent of ‘no make-up’ make-up.

After the awards were presented, the ladies hit the dancefloor.  It was a true girls night out! Now the question is whose award ceremony look did you like the most?
