The Brits took over London’s O2 Arena and all the best stars from music and TV came out to celebrate. Whether they were nominated, presenting, performing or just watching the show, everyone put on their most glamorous party dress to indulge in the most lavish night of the year in British music. With performances from Katy Perry, Emeli Sande and Little Mix and guest hosts including Naomi Campbell, Rita Ora and Simon Cowell, the line-up of celebs was A’list all the way.
The action was broadcast live on ITV (and is available now to view online on ITV Player) so you may already know who won what? We’ve listed the winners at the end of this blog post just in case. First, we want to get straight to the fashion to get ideas for what to wear for long nights out. These stars started with dinner and then had a show and after-party so their outfits had to withstand a lot. There were 10 celebs that looked especially hot.
(1) Emma Willis
Emma was the hostess with the most-est as she kept the show running smoothly and calmly, using her years of experience in live TV. Her black maxi dress was sophisticated and classy – just like her performance.
(2) Ellie Goulding
Ellie rarely wears a maxi dress but she should try them more often as she looks stunning in her black dress with gold embellishment. This is a maxi dress that you can party in thanks to it’s high split and low neckline. Also, Ellie’s hair is loose and natural, which gives the dress more of a cool look, rather than too formal.
(3) Rita Ora
Rita’s dressed for red carpets a lot recently thanks to her 50 Shades Darker role and she always delights and surprises. Rita always does things differently from the crowd, making an extra effort to look different which she certainly did in a green maxi dress. But one thing she never takes a chance on is the shape of the dress. Although colours and embellishments vary, always remember that Rita is wearing something that allows her to show off her gorgeous curves.
(4) Katy Perry
Katy had multiple outfit changes during the show, as usual, but the floral maxi dress that she wore to Universal Music’s after-party really hit the spot. It’s cute and girly and it makes her look super pretty. No wonder she’s smiling so much in this pic!
(5) Holly Willoughby
Sequins are a girls’ best friend and Holly looked radiant in her sequin mini dress on the red carpet. With simple silver sandals and a dazzling smile, Holly was literally glowing. After attending an after-party, she had an early morning start for This Morning – where does she get her energy from?
(6) Mollie King
The ex-Saturdays singer looked incredible, also in a silver dress. It’s the ideal party dress – slinky, easy to move in but super striking and enables Mollie to show off her endless legs. If you know what your best asset is, you just have to dress to show it off.
(7) Pixie Lott
Rocking a black mini dress with fringe detail, Pixie channelled a hint of 80’s-style Madonna with the bustier detail of her dress. It’s a bold rock chick look but Pixie owns it by making her make-up bold and slicking back her hair. If you’re going to take a stand with your outfit then embrace it all the way and you’ll feel a lot more confident.
(8) Anne Marie
The artist may have lost to Rag N Bone Man in the Breakthrough Act category but she definitely wins in the glamour stakes. She looked gorgeous in a satin nude dress and a green fur stole. The contrast of colours looks gorgeous and gives it a classic, vintage effect, even though it’s totally on trend. What do you think?
Michelle looked absolutely stunning in a striking blue jumpsuit. She hasn’t been to many award ceremonies due to being busy filming, but now she’s out she wants everyone to notice her. Welcome back, Michelle!
Abbey knows what her best assets are – her long legs – and she certainly showed those off in a monochrome midi dress. She upstages everyone who’s next to year and has done for years. She always gets it right when it comes to fashion, opting for classic shapes and lots of black and white. When it doubt, wear one of those two colours…or both!
