Question?

Hi, I’m an apple shape and I’m not sure what suits me.  I need a nice dress but not sure what style to go for? Help! x

Hi, apple shapes carry their weight around their mid section so you need to dress to show off your best bits and avoid adding bulk around your middle.  You’ve probably got gorgeous legs and a most wanted clevage.  Empire lines and longer length tops will work wonders for your figure and opt for lower necklines to draw attention to the upper body.  Remember to wear body control underwearWrap dresses will look good on you and a side tie will draw attention away from your stomach.  Dresses with embellishment around the neck or detail on the hem will draw attention away from your middle.  When choosing a skirt remember that the wider the skirt, the smaller the waist line.  A-line or calf length skirts are perfect for you.  You should avoid waistline details, pleats and gathers around your middle as this will add bulk and stay away from shapeless shift dresses and clingy jersey fabrics.  I’ve suggested some dresses for you, listed below with images to the left.  Hope you like! x

Question?

Hi Cate, my son has a Nintendo Wii and I don’t have much time to go to the gym so I was thinking of getting some fitness games.  What do Very have that you would recommend?  Thanks x

Hiya!  The Wii is fantastic for fitness games and Very have plenty of games to help you get fit.  My favourites are Nintendo Wii Just Dance 3, Nintendo Wii My Fitness Coach Cardio Workout and Nintendo Wii Zumba Fitness 2.  Plus, there’s also a Nintendo Wii Nickelodeon Fit game for kids! x

Question?

I’m going to a party Sunday and need a good party hairstyle and makeup look can you help?

Hi there!  All you need for foxy hair that’s right on trend is Salon Confidential Bouncy Curl Hair Extensions and Salon Confidential Get The Look in Vibrant Red

Step 1. Slightly curl the ends of your natural hair.
Step 2. Section hair and at the back of your head 3/4 inches from the bottom hair line, clip in your Bouncy Curl Hair Extensions.
Step 3. Scrape your hair into a high ponytail on the top of your head, smoothing your natural hair over the extension clips and secure with a hair band, leaving the ends hang loose on the top of your head.
Step 4. Spray hair spray over the stray hairs to ensure smooth sides.
Step 5. Take the ends of the hair extensions and grip sporadically to make the curls sit in different directions.  Make sure you cover the full middle section of your head and leave some curls loose at the front of your head.
Step 6. Use your Salon Confidential ‘Get the Look’ makeup in Vibrant Red, instructions are included on how to apply.

Enjoy the party! x

Question?

Hi, I’m looking to buy a new laptop from very for £300-£400 but would like an i3 or something like that, so the question is has very.co.uk got any 2nd generation or are they all old 1st generation?  My laptop is only 4 months old intel dual core but already slow as a snail.  Thanks

Hello! From what I can tell, you won’t be able to get an i3 2nd generation laptop for the budget you’ve mentioned, and I think your best bet is to go for an i5. My advice would be to check out the Acer 5750 Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, 15.6 inch Laptop as the i5 is quad core (rather than dual core) and uses “Turbo Boost” technology that will make it better for multi-tasking. It should prove faster than your “snail” of a 1st gen i3 you’re currently using. Hope that helps!

Question?

I’m going to a wedding in April but will still be breastfeeding my son.  I’m not sure what outfit I can wear to look nice but still be practical for breastfeeding and to wear after too!  Help!

You need to look for wrap style fronts and straps with easy access for breastfeeding, and obviously nothing too structured with zips at the back etc.  This black Oasis Rosette Halter Dress would look gorgeous with a bright or pastel coloured blazer on.  If you don’t want to go for a coloured one how about a cream one?  Black and cream is lovely for a wedding and you can wear both as single items afterwards.  This orange Vila Blazer is nice.  If you want something brighter how about this Love Label Pleated Dress in pastel blue.  The top is fully lined and has a lovely back detail. Length is 36 inches, also nice V-neck for easy access breastfeeding!  I would probably change the belt and you could accessorise this really nice for a wedding and the pleats will hide any baby weight and be really flattering.

If you fancy a maxi then this Coleen Ethnic Printed Maxi Dress is really on trend this season with the ethnic prints and will look lovely with your hair up with nice earrings like Coleen in the shot.  Also good access for breastfeeding!

Look at this Traffic People Floaty Maxi Dress – the colours are gorgeous and easily altered if it’s too long – look at the image shot from the back it looks lovely.  I would swap the rope belt and dress it up for a wedding.  When shopping round keep in mind how easy the top section is to whip out, down or under without having to get fully undressed just to breastfeed.  Anything wrap, halterneck or v-neck should be ok – if too low you can always pin with a nice corsage and remove that to breastfeed.
