Best Dressed: Marie Claire Magazine’s Image Awards

Marie Claire magazine hosted it’s second ever awards ceremony to honour the people that help make the stars gorgeous and grateful celebs turned up to present awards to their glam squad!

The magazine realises that a whole team of stylists, hair stylists and make-up artists are behind one red carpet ready celebrity and why shouldn’t those individuals deserve recognition for their work? The stars know that they wouldn’t look their best without their team and so they are happy to give back at the awards ceremony. And as they walked the red carpet at the start of the night, they showed off the work that their ‘image makers’ had done. Many wore black outfits to make their hair and make-up stand out more, with the notable exception of Kylie Jenner who was honouring Balmain creative director Oliver Rousteing. She certainly picked one of Balmain’s most spectacular outfits to shine a spotlight on Rousteing’s design skills.

Let’s have a closer look at what the stars wore to look good without taking attention away from their team of beauty helpers. It’s great inspiration if we want to look sophisticated and pretty without making it seem as if we’ve tried too hard:

Jessica Alba

Jessica looked chic and stylish with bootcut trousers and a smart black blazer with a black clutch bag. Her hair is smooth and sleek and her make-up is bronzed with a light brown smokey eye. Nothing is attention-grabbing in its own right but the whole look is perfectly put together. She’s thought about every detail of her look and that’s why she looks gorgeous.

Kylie Jenner

The youngest member of the Kardashian / Jenner clan takes big risks when it comes to fashion. Somehow she gets away with this purple maxi dress as she wears it with attitude. Look at her pout and slightly raised eyebrow, challenging us to question her! Notice that she keeps her make-up simple with a nude lip and tousled hair rather than an up-do. This makes the dress get all the attention that it deserves.

Cindy Crawford

She was one of the first original supermodels and Cindy Crawford still has it in a long sleeve black maxi dress. The bodycon shape shows off her lovely hourglass shape and the mesh detail at the sides of the skirt help with the body contouring, giving anyone who wears it a long, sleek silhouette. Barely-there sandals take the look to another level, literally!

Pati Dubroff and Margot Robbie

Pati is one of Hollywood’s most respected make-up artists and Margot is one of Hollywood’s up and coming stars so it was only natural that Margot should present the award. As Margot is so beautiful, it’s hard for her not to upstage Pati but she does it while looking lovely in a black faux-leather dress. What do you think?

Shay Mitchell

The Pretty Little Liars actress showed just how fabulous a black jumpsuit can look. With it’s one shoulder style and cut-out detail, this has more to look at than most dress. She looks strong and fierce in this jumpsuit, she’s going places in Hollywood.

Elizabeth Olsen

The Captain America actress was one of the few stars to wear colour, but she knows what suits her and she wore it well. Elizabeth, like her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, has always had a quirky, unique style and dresses different from everyone else and she looked lovely in the pink dress. She made other stars very jealous!

Who do you think was the best dressed? It shows you don’t have to wear something bold and attention-grabbing to look gorgeous.

How The Stars Celebrated The Start Of 2017 In Style

Happy New Year! Last year doesn’t matter anymore. It’s time for a fresh new start! 2017 is a blank new canvas and we are free to plan new goals and work towards achieving our targets.

This should be cause for celebration as we head into a new year that’s full of potential. The celebs’ definitely think so as they went all out to celebrate the end of 2016 and the start of a fresh, new chapter. Let’s have a look at who did what and look at their party clothes so we can start 2017 as we mean to go on – by looking our best!

Mariah Carey

The ultimate diva never looks anything less than 100% fabulous and on New Year’s Eve she stepped things up a gear with a stunning LBD. Mariah performed in Times Square as the clock struck midnight and led the crowd into a sing-song of Auld Lang Syne. After that, she was criticised on social media for failing to sing the following song but she didn’t let it bother her as the black bodycon mini dress was so fabulous, she can get away with anything.

Nicole Scherzinger

Scherzy saw the New Year in on holiday and the pic she posted to Instagram made me so jealous! When I recovered, I thought that nothing was going to be gained from being envious. Instead, why don’t we all plan a beach escape sometime this year and pack a gorgeous gold bikini like Nicole’s?

Emily Ratajowski

Metallics are always good for a party and Emily looked stunning in her silver top. It’s very similar to the top that Kendall Jenner wore to her 21st birthday earlier this year. If you want to party like a celeb this year, silver is the answer.

Jesy Nelson

How hot does the Little Mix singer look in the photo she posted to Instagram before her night out? The combination of a high waisted midi pencil skirt and a bralet makes her waist look slimmer as it shows off the slimmest part. Barely there sandals make her legs longer and leaner. Her ex must be kicking himself!

Kate Wright

She  may be from TOWIE, but Essex’s Kate Wright looked like an Arabian Princess as she dazzled in Dubai. Gold is also a lovely colour to wear on a night out as it gets you in the mood, it looks luxurious and it never fails to make people stop and stare. Her gold skirt is especially gorgeous.

Fearne Cotton

Fearne hosted a Top Of The Pops New Year’s Eve special and showed off this dressing room selfie before recording the show. When hosting an important event, it’s vital to give yourself confidence by wearing something that flatters you and Fearne’s certainly done that with her black midi dress and chunky black platform heels that make her look feminine and fierce at the same time.

Daisy Lowe

Daisy’s got a new job as the face and body of Triumph lingerie and so she showed off one of Triumph’s bras during a New Year’s Eve bathroom selfie. Daisy recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and it looks like dancing has been amazing for her figure. What more of an excuse do you need to hit the dancefloor?

Whose style do you admire the most? There’s nothing stopping you from achieving a similar look in 2017. Enjoy!

Golden Globes 2017: The Hottest Celeb Outfits

The Golden Globe Awards are traditionally one of the most star-studded events of January and the 2017 show was as A’list as ever! The stars from film and television gathered at the Beverly Hilton in LA to find out who had won what and to gossip with their fellow stars. The Globes are as much a networking event as they are an awards ceremony as they’re the first awards ceremony of the year and a chance for all the celebs to catch up with each other after the holidays.

As celebrities are a competitive group and knew they would be seeing all their rivals as well as their friends, everyone went to an extra effort to make sure their outfits would get them on the Best Dressed list. In fact, the stars could measure how good their night would be by seeing how long the photographers stopped to take their picture as they walk down the red carpet. If the photographers wanted them to stop for ages, it’s a compliment and gives them lots of confidence that their outfit has totally worked.

At this year’s awards, the 74t Golden Globes, there were several celebs that brought their A’game. There also seemed to be a theme as there was lots of bling and sparkle! All celebrities wore something that shone, either in the colour of their dress or in the embellishments on the dress. Let’s take a closer look:

Reese Witherspoon

There can be no denying that Reese’s dress shone. Her yellow dress had the effect of making everyone look twice. It’s a lovely pastel colour so it looked soft against the colour of her skin rather than bold and she topped it off with a statement gold necklace. She looked beautiful but it didn’t look like she’d tried too hard as the colour was light rather than brassy.

Naomie Harris

It was great to see a British actress on the red carpet who is successful internationally for her role in James Bond and looked every inch the acting diva in a gold maxi dress. She’s a great ambassador for the UK showing that us Brits have style and talent!

Naomi Campbell

The other Naomi also looked stunning, but then what else could you expect from someone who’s been a leading fashion model for more than 25 years? Her silver dress certainly shone on the red carpet and contrasted against the black stripes of the dress. The stripes are only small, which means that the silver colour stands out more – it’s a clever trick if you want to make a superstar arrival! Silver and gold always stand out at a party.

Nicole Kidman

Another way to make silver stand out is to contrast it with white like Nicole Kidman did. She looked incredible in a white and silver maxi dress with a long silk train. Silk and sequins – how can you get more fabulous than that?

Sofia Vergara

The Modern Family actress always gets onto the Best Dressed lists and this year is no exception! Her gold dress is truly show-stopping and she lets it stand out properly because she pulls her hair back tightly to let the dress take centre stage. With a dress like this you have to wear it properly or don’t go for gold. With gold, there are no half measures.

Emma Stone

Emma looked pretty and feminine in a cream maxi dress embellished with silver stars. This is no ordinary dress, it’s a dress for someone with personality. If you like to be one of a kind, try to find a dress with a unique pattern as patterns are hard to copy.

Drew Barrymore

Drew channelled the 1920s with a Great Gatsby style cream dress with silver embellishment. Can you see what we mean about gold and silver being the colours of the night now? A vintage style dress at an awards ceremony or formal occasion always goes down well as it’s a talking point. You’ve kept to the dress code but you’ve done it in a clever way and you can guarantee everyone will ask Drew where she got her dress.

Blake Lively

The new mum looked super slender and slim in a black maxi dress. But this is not just any ordinary black dress thanks to the long train and the gold detail around the hips and the neckline. Black and gold are a classic combination and with this dress you have the slimming effect of black and the party-ready effect of gold.

Kristen Bell

The Frozen actress wowed the crowds in a black sequin maxi dress. There are a lot of sequins in this dress! Again, it stands out from an average black dress due to all the sparkles. Sparkles are the way forward right now!

Whose dress was the most mesmerising, in your opinion? Are you ready to sparkle more in 2017?

The Best Ever Golden Globe Awards Outfits

Just when the weather gets into the minus figures at night and it gets dark really early, awards season comes around and cheers us all up. The Golden Globes is one of the first awards in the series of award ceremonies that climaxes in the Oscars at the end of February. The honours are given to stars in film and television so we see a lot more stars on the red carpet than we do at the Oscars but the dress code is equally fabulous. What’s not to like about all that red carpet glamour?

The 2017 Golden Globes take place on Sunday 8 January so in celebration of this year’s awards, let’s have a look at some of the best ever outfits worn to the Golden Globes. It’s January – what more excuse do we need to look at lovely party dresses to lift our spirits?

Jennifer Lawrence (2016)

Last year, J-Law won Best Actress in a Musical for the film Joy and she was definitely a winner in the fashion stakes too. Her red maxi dress was really striking because of it’s simple, elegant shape. If you’re wearing a bold colour then keeping the style of the dress simple gives your look more impact. It’s a sophisticated way to stand out.

Jennifer Lopez (2015)

JLo doesn’t do things by halves does she? She looked a cross between a Grecian Goddess and a mermaid at the 2015 awards. I love the way how her sparkly grey maxi dress flows out behind her as she walks so that she gets to stay on the red carpet for longer. Her dress has a plunging neckline and a high thigh split but technically it’s still a maxi dress so she’s not flashing as much flesh as she has done in previous years – very clever!

Lupita Nyongo’o (2014)

The Twelve Years a Slave actress suits bold colours and often wears a lot of colourful prints, but there was something especially striking about this sleeveless red maxi dress. It contrasts beautifully with her skin tone and it grabs everyone’s attention when it stands out on a dark night. If you want to arrive in style on a night out, a red dress like this will work every time.

Halle Berry (2011)

Halle looked so elegant in a black lace maxi dress when she walked the red carpet in 2011. This look is soft, pretty and feminine as the train of the skirt floats behind her in the breeze. In this outfit, she looks super elegant and the simple silver heels finish this look perfectly.

Charlize Theron (2012)

Wow! Talk about a statement dress. Charlize transforms a warm  toned cream maxi dress into something magnificent with the addition of a big bow and a thigh split. There’s no mistake that she’s wearing the dress rather than it wearing her as she pouts defiantly on the red carpet, knowing that she looks hot. A thigh split in a maxi dress has the effect of making you feel a little bit more fabulous – try it!

Beyonce (2009)

Beyonce knows a thing or two about dressing for an awards ceremony and always has – even back in 2009 she set pulses racing in a gorgeous gold maxi dress. Gold will always get you in the mood to party, however you’re feeling before you get dressed. If you’re feeling a bit low after December’s indulgences, get something gold on and it will transform your mindset and make you want to get back on the dancefloor where you belong!

Who do you think looked the best of the best? Don’t forget to tune into the awards on Sunday 8 January on E! from 11pm to see this year’s red carpet looks!

Movie Highlights: 2016 Recap And 2017 Predictions

In 2016 we’ve seen the release of some high-budget, spectacular blockbusters as well as some charming indie movies. Each movie release has usually been accompanied with a glitzy film premiere to make an impact in the newspapers, magazines and online to entice us all to watch the film.

As we approach 2017, let’s have a look at some of the highlights of 2016 to recap on the films and what the stars wore to the premieres. It’s always fun to look at the best of the best when it comes to outfits to inspire us to make an effort with what we wear ourselves. And then let’s look ahead to 2017 and find out what we can expect in terms of film and celebrities walking yet more red carpets. Showbiz never stops!

The film highlights of 2016 were:

Nocturnal Animals

Fashion designer Tom Ford’s second directorial effort is tense and dark but it’s also beautifully shot. Each frame is carefully crafted and every image is chosen for a reason. Nocturnal Animals will often leave you open mouthed at the beauty and simplicity of the set. It tells two stories—one about a morose art dealer in LA, played by Amy Adams (above), and the other a fictional tale she’s reading. Amy deserves an Oscar nomination for this emotionally captivating film. And she deserved some kind of fashion recognition for her outfit at the New York premiere in  a stunning red maxi dress. This is power dressing at its finest and a snub to anyone who dares suggest that redheads can’t wear red dresses!

The Revenant

Leonardo Di Caprio won Best Actor at the Oscars for his role in this film and it did well in general, winning three Oscars. The scenery in this movie is visually stunning as Leo’s character travels through dense woodland in treacherous weathers, while escaping native Indians and running for his life. However, at the premiere he look smooth and calm in a classic black suit. You wouldn’t expect anything less given that he’s had more than 20 years of acting in films and walking the red carpet at their premieres.

Bridget Jones’ Baby

We’ve waited 10 years for another Bridget Jones movie and now that it’s here it did not disappoint thanks to an attention-grabbing storyline. Bridget’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father of her baby is. It could be her on-off lover Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth) or it could be a dating app entrepreneur (played by Patrick Dempsey) with whom she had a one-night stand at a musical festival. Either way, Bridget is warm, loveable and makes us feel better that we’re not the only ones with less than perfect lives. Her real-life alter ego Renee Zellwegger looked gorgeous at the film’s London premiere in a black one-shoulder maxi dress.

Bad Moms

This film starring Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell is one of the year’s most laugh out loud comedies, acknowledging that motherhood can be hard and that it can be hilarious. As it’s made by the directors of The Hangover movies, you can tell that the script will be awesome and the characters likeable. Kristen Bell wore the best outfit on the premiere trail, looking summery, fresh and pretty in a yellow midi dress embellished with flowers. You’ll cheer everyone up and get the party started in a dress like this.

This film caused a lot of controversy. Some loved it and some hated it. However, there was no hiding the fact that this was female focused and about a team of women that were strong and in charge. What’s not to like about that? Comedienne Melissa McCarthy was a tough paranormal researcher, who was feisty and fierce. She teams up with a physicist and an engineer for help and the women save New York City from ghosts. As it was a female focused movie, there was lots to look at on the red carpet but Leslie Jones made the most impact in a bold red maxi dress. Talk about stopping everyone in their tracks!

If you read Roald Dahl’s heartwarming The BFG as a child, you’ll likely be entranced by this big-screen adaptation. Sure, it’s a little long, but Steven Spielberg has gone to great lengths to make something that holds our attention. The film had the worldwide premiere in Cannes where British actress Rebecca Hall looked cute and pretty in a fabulous floral maxi dress. A floral dress is uplifting due to all the lovely colours, while the dark base for the flowers means that it’s also flattering.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Every Christmas needs a Star Wars movie! This is a prequel to the action, explaining the build-up to one of the previous movies so it’s suitable for everyone, whether you’ve watched the other films or not. What’s very cool about it is the star of the film is a woman. Move over Luke Skywalker! The heroine of this film is Jyn Erso, played  by Felicity Jones. She was also the star on the red carpet, looking radiant at the London premiere in a magical grey maxi dress.

What was your favourite movie of 2016?

In 2017, we can look forward to:

Beauty and The Beast

Starring Emma Watson, this is a live action re-imagining of the classic fairytale in the same way that Lily James played Cinderella in 2015. Ex Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens plays the Beast.

Transformers: The Last Knight

This looks likely to be a hit at the box office given that it’s trailer has already had more than 100 million views on YouTube. The film is directed by Michael Bay, with Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles from Age of Extinction, alongside Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro from the first three films.

The LEGO Batman movie

The original LEGO movie was one of the film highlights of 2014 with Pharrell Williams’ song Happy being a huge hit, so the LEGO Batman movie has a lot to live up to. This film contains all the classic batman characters like Batman, Robin and the joker but they’re made from LEGO.

T2 Trainspotting

Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) reunites with Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), Begbie (Robert Carlyle) and other old friends after returning to Glasgow. The original Trainspotting was released in 1996 – 20 years ago – so will the older cast be able to hold our attention. As the original film was such a classic, no doubt a lot of people will watch it to find out.Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Johnny Depp is make in a role he’s brilliant at. Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Capt. Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea including him. Capt. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the sea. It’s escapism at it’s finest.

One Direction’s Harry Styles makes his acting debut in Dunkirk, which is about the Allied soldiers in the Second World War. Stranded in Northern France, Harry’s regiment must make it to Dunkirk if there’s any hope of a rescue. The British Navy asks civilian boats to help and everyone struggles to save some (but not all) of the soldiers. This film is very dramatic and very emotional.

Spiderman: Homecoming

There have been a lot of versions of spiderman recently with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield taking turns to play Peter Parker. But now Tom Holland takes up the mantle and the film is about a movie Spiderman trying to get used to his new powers. The best thing about this film is that it stars Robert Downey Jr and his Ironman character Tony Stark, making reference to the fact that Ironman and Spiderman teamed up together in the Marvel movie, Captain America.

Are you excited about any movie in particular?

Have a lovely Christmas and New Year.

New Year’s Eve Inspiration: What The Celebs Did In 2016

Have you finalised your plans for New Year’s Eve or do you need a little more inspiration? There can be so much pressure at this time of year to have the perfect night. Do you go to a bar? A club? A pub? Do you know anyone who is throwing a house party or are would you host one yourself? There are just so many options to welcome in the new year.

If we want a New Year’s Eve party that will make everyone jealous on Instagram, then we need to look at what the celebs did last year. They were all over social media last New Year’s Eve night, showing off the cool things they were doing and making it known that they were having fun.

Let’s have a recap for some last-minute NYE inspiration:

Jourdan Dunn

Wow! This picture makes everyone jealous! New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to combine partying with a holiday like Jourdan did. Whether you go away for one night, for three or for a week, it’s good to have some time to clear your head so you can start 2017 on a fresh night. Imagine lying on a beach in your bikini to ease the new year hangover – bliss!

Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne

The girls also had a holiday over New Year’s Eve, spending 5 nights in Barbados and having crazy parties every day. Their break was a wild one rather than a reflective one but they let out all their steam so they could focus on work in 2017.

Demi Lovato

Every major city usually hosts public events with fireworks and live music, giving people the chance to come together for a happy reason. Demi performed at the event in Times Square, New York, while braving the chill in a gorgeous black faux fur jacket. She looked and sounded amazing!

Perri Edwards

She may have spent the previous New Year’s with her fiancé Zayn Malik, but after becoming single in 2015, Perri welcomed in 2016 with her closest girlfriends. And her friends went for a fancy dress theme, which Perri got fully involved in. Who needs men when you can dress as a pirate and be silly?

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

As they were about to become parents in 2016, Chrissy and John opted for a romantic holiday to Morocco where they dressed up for each other and saw in New Year’s Eve lit by candles. It’s not always about the size of your party if you spend the night with the one person you care about more than anyone else in the world. New Year’s Eve can be very special if you share it with your love.

Alexa Chung

Alexa was a glamorous cowboy at a dinner party, combining a dazzling white top with a trilby hat.  A dinner party is such a civilised way to welcome in the new year. Treating your body to luxury food and tasty drinks on the first day of a new year sets a precedent that you will do something to treat yourself in the coming weeks and months.  Also, if you have food with your drinks, you’re less likely to get a stinking hangover.

Whatever you do on New Year’s Eve, have a good one. Happy New Year!

Disney On Ice: Celebs’ Winter Fashion

Although it’s cold at this time of year, it can be nice to put on some warm and cosy layers and enjoy a picturesque and frosty winter’s evening. Ice-skating, or watching professional skaters put on a show, is a magical thing to do at this time of year. When the atmosphere is beautiful, you’ll be too in awe to think about the cold.

The Disney on Ice show, which is currently at London’s O2 Arena, is non-stop entertainment for adults and children, but you still need to dress up for the cold. On the first night, the celebs came out in their jumpers, blazers and trousers to meet the Disney characters from Frozen and Mickey Mouse.

If you’re planning on going ice-skating or for a night that involves being outside, then we can take a look at some of the celebrities for cosy dressing.

Billie Faiers

Billie showed that dressing up for winter doesn’t have to mean sacrificing on style or fit. Her little grey jumper perfectly shows off her neat baby bump while leather trousers are perfect for dressing up in chilly times, especially when worn with ankle boots. She looks so happy and part of that comes from picking the right outfit for an occasion.

Katie Piper

Katie’s wearing a lovely long sleeve lace top to meet Mickey Mouse, which is warmer than you think when worn with trousers. It’s got a high neck and long sleeves so it keeps the heat in, but she still looks like she’s made an effort. If you are going to a party on a really cold night then lace is your secret weapon.

Denise Van Outen

TV Presenter Denise was every inch the yummy mummy in a long sleeve tea dress, thick opaque tights and black ankle boots.

Kate Garraway

The host of Good Morning Britain dazzled in sequin leggings that would get any party started. If you’re wearing a top like that then you need to wear them with a plain black top and a black blazer as you don’t want anything to detract from those trousers – you have to wear them with pride. If they don’t keep you warm, then you’ll definitely get a warm glow from all the compliments you get.

Are you looking forward to Winter more now? No matter what, it’s an excuse to dress up…

Collateral Beauty Premiere: Best Of The Red Carpet

Collateral Beauty is being billed as THE film to see over Christmas and New Year. Starring Will Smith and Naomie Harris, this film will have you gripped from the moment it starts to the moment the credits roll.

Will plays an ad exec who had a glittering career until he lost his 6 year old child to cancer. Then he turned into a hermit who hates the world, didn’t  want to leave his house and was in danger of running his company into the ground. His colleagues all try to get him fired until he finds a therapy group run by the gorgeous Naomi Harris and the film takes a more positive turn. It’s a film that will grip you emotionally and have you laughing and crying at the same time, while making you realise that you are luckier than you think this Christmas.

Although the film has some dark moments, the European premiere was full of beautiful creatures in stunning dresses – lighting up a cold winter’s night in Leicester Square. Let’s have a closer look at some of the outfits that we’d love to copy this Christmas / New Year.

Naomie Harris

Naomie’s the star of the film and she was definitely the star of the premiere too. With a rusty printed brown dress embellished with ruffles and flowers, there was so much detail to look at and the brown and the white complemented her skin tone and gave her a golden glow. If you don’t want to wear black this festive season then you can take a lesson from Naomie and go for colour – it will mean that everyone will notice you and have dress envy.

Helen Mirren

Helen plays a character talking about death in the film, but she turned that on its head for the premiere. She looked chic and elegant in a lace red maxi dress. Red is a Christmassy colour and lace is a party material – it’s an ideal dress for this time of year.

Kimberly Garner

The Made in Chelsea star turned model and designer wowed in a black jumpsuit. This is a party outfit – it’s chic, it’s flattering thanks to the flared leg and deep v-neck and it’s comfortable to wear and easy to dance in. If you like to spend most of your night on the dancefloor, you need a jumpsuit in your party wardrobe.

Sarah Jane Crawford

The TV presenter kept things classy in a black bardot dress with a neckline that showed off her shoulders. A bardot neckline always looks lovely at a party as it shows off one of the slimmest parts of the body, while keeping the rest hidden. This is a super elegant choice of dress.

Olivia Buckland

The Love Island star looks ready for a White Christmas in her white party dress. Her summer on TV may have come to an end, but she doesn’t want to leave the spotlight and this dress ensures she still makes an impact. What do you think?

Fran Newman

The Made in Chelsea star turned music producer looked pretty and feminine in a red long sleeve midi dress and black open toe ankle boots. This is the ultimate day to night look as you could wear this to the office at this time of year and refresh your hair and make-up when it’s time to party. This is a great look if you don’t have time to go home and get changed before your night out.

Who do you think looked the best?

Celebrity Style Steal: Taylor Swift’s Best Looks

Happy Birthday to Taylor Swift!  The chart-topping country music pop star is now 27 and she’s had a fantastic year. She’s done her 1989 World Tour and won tons of Grammys. And she’s done it all in style with a wardrobe to die for!

What’s so amazing about Taylor is that she looks as fabulous when she’s dressed casually as she does on a night out. Often what she wears is very simple but she puts it together with some gorgeous shoes and a bold red lip. She has the unmistakable walk of a celebrity, strutting with attitude wherever she goes. That confidence comes from knowing she looks hot when she sees her reflection in the mirror. It’s a lovely feeling!

So in honour of Taylor’s birthday, let’s have a look at 3 ways we can copy her style and get that feeling ourselves.

(1) Taylor’s Casual Look

Even when she’s not on stage, Taylor still looks like a star. The key to this outfit is one statement piece and then some well-fitting basics. Her red jumper is warm and cosy, but with a flattering crop length. It’s similar to the V by Very blouson sleeve crop jumper and stands out when worn with black skinny jeans like the V by Very shaping double waistband skinny jeans. Skinny jeans make the legs look leaner and you can add to that effect even more with ankle boots like the Superdry bones strap leather ankle boots, with a thick heel that makes them more comfortable to strut around in.

(2) Taylor’s Night Out Look

Taylor has endless long legs and so when she’s on a night out dining and dancing, it makes sense to show off her best asset. She does this with a simple black mini skirt like the Miss Selfridge scuba skater skirt and barely-there black sandals like the V by Very petals block heel ankle strap sandals. As she’s kept it so simple on the bottom half she can afford to go a bit wild with her top, quite literally. Try the River Island printed leopard print blouse if you want to drive everyone wild with lust or envy or both.

(3) Taylor’s Award Ceremony Look

Wow! Talk about an attention-grabbing dress. Taylor looked beautiful in a dress embellished with swirly sequins at this year’s Country Music Awards. She stole the show and upstaged everyone else. If we want to make an impression at a ball or a party, we can learn a lot from Taylor and copy her style with the Little Mistress sequin maxi dress and the V by Very Caprice mini platform minimal sandals for even more sparkle!

Which of the three looks do you like the most? It’s inspiring to see that dressing like Taylor is a lot easier than you may expect.

BBC Sportsperson Of The Year Awards: Party Fashion

Every year, our top sportspeople are honoured in a ceremony voted for by the public. They can’t train for it. All they can do is turn up looking their best, be humble and see if the public will remember their achievements over the past year.

This year it was won by Andy Murray for the third year running, and he was the bookies favourite to win given that he’s beaten Novak Djovikic to become the number one tennis player in the entire world. But there were some surprises when it came to fashion as some of the sportswomen looked stunning dressed in their award ceremony outfits rather than sports kits.

Let’s have a closer look at what everyone wore for a final bit of inspiration for our New Year’s Eve outfits. We want something to start 2017 in style, don’t we?

Laura Trott

When she’s not tearing it up on the cycle track, Laura can look really glamorous. She showed that at her wedding to fellow cyclist Jason Kenny earlier this year and she showed it again at the sports awards. In her gold dress, she looks like she’s more ready for the Oscars  than the sports awards – she looked beautiful. If you want to stand out for the right reasons then wear gold or sequins….or both!

Jessica Ennis Hill

Jessica’s had a great year, winning a silver medal in the Rio Olympics despite having a baby since the London Olympics. She announced her retirement recently, but she is still a fantastic role model for getting women into sport. She showed off her trim figure in a black bardot dress, which really suited her.

Rebecca Adlington

The Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer turned sports commentator stood out from the crowd in a long sleeve white midi dress. It’s conservative, but it allows her to show off her toned legs. This is a sophisticated, elegant look.

Claudia Fragapane

Wow! The gymnast turned Strictly Come Dancing star looked fantastic in a black mesh maxi dress . It gives tantalising glimpses of her figure without giving too much away. Warning – a dress like this may make people stop and stare!

Heather Stanning and Helen Glover

A black maxi dress and a red maxi dress are both absolutely appropriate for a formal occasion and the girls’ have made use of texture to make their dresses stand out from the crowd.. Helen is in velver, while Heather is in lace. Which one do you like best?

Sally Nugent

The BBC Sports TV presenter looks like an athlete herself in her super flattering black jumpsuit. A jumpsuit is the ideal alternative to a black maxi dress if you’re not a dress person or if you want to look more strong and fierce. Sally was working, presenting awards on the night so it was important that she gave off a powerful, confident vibe.

Who do you think was the winner of ‘Best Dressed’?

Critic’s Choice Awards 2016: Red Carpet Looks

Awards season is starting earlier this year! The Critic’s Choice Awards usually takes place in mid-January but this year it’s in mid-December, which means we can expect almost 3 months of fabulous dresses and A’list stars attending awards dos, Until The Oscars on 26 February, there are awards after awards. Bring on the gowns!

The Critic’s Choice awards honour the best TV shows and film from 2016 and the winners are listed at the end of this blog post if you want recommendations of some entertainment to watch in your time off this Christmas. First, let’s have a look at the divine dresses and take some inspiration about what we can wear to a formal party or a fancy New Year’s Eve event.

Emma Stone

Emma looked stunning in a black maxi dress with cut out detail. The fabric of the top half and the halterneck detail makes her look party ready while the full skirt is formal. Therefore it fits two occasions – you can party in it and go to a formal dinner in it while looking glamorous and gorgeous the whole time. What do you think?

Nicole Kidman

Nicole also wore a cutout black dress that flattered her long, lean figure. The tight waist detail highlights her slimmest part and then creates the impression of more curves as it emphasises her hips. The bardot neckline is also on trend.

Naomie Harris

The British actress and star of the Bond films wowed in a strapless black maxi dress that showed off her slender shoulders. A strapless dress is a great way to show off a hint of skin, mesmerising everyone that looks at you. Never underappreciate the appeal of a strapless dress!

Kate Beckinsale

Kate went for full length and fabulous with her black short sleeve maxi dress embellished with sequins. It’s bold and it’s daring and with that hand on her hip attitude she totally pulls it off.  What do you think?

Amy Adams

There weren’t many celebs wearing anything other than black so Amy really stood out! She stood out for the right reasons as the white dress hugged her figure before snaking out into a wider skirt. Again, there is a bardot neckline – a lot of stars are wearing that right now.

Jessic Biel

Jessica had a boho chic vibe going on with her green maxi dress and her wavy hair with its long fringe (or bangs as the Americans call them). If you’re a bit of a hippy chick, this is a great way to stay true to yourself at an awards ceremony. Green dresses really uplift anyone’s skin tone as well, giving you a rich, warm glow.

Kerry Washington

The star of America’s hottest new TV show Scandal made sure everyone noticed her as she decided to wear a black lace midi dress instead of a maxi dress. Scandal is making everyone gripped and Kerry’s impressed everyone with her acting so now it’s time to show off her fashion sense. If you don’t want to wear a maxi dress to a formal occasion then you don’t have to. Just wear a midi dress like Kerry with confidence and you’ll make everyone wish they did the same.

Celebrity Style Steal: How To Wear Red Like The Stars

Christmas is the ideal time to wear red. It’s bright, it’s bold and it turns heads!

If you’re a bit nervous about trying red then just have a look at others wearing red and it will give you more confidence. You’ll see that there are a lot of ways to do it, from a maxi dress to a midi dress,  with textures like lace or satin and the option of sleeveless, long sleeve and halterneck dresses.

The celebrities have been wearing a lot of red recently, wowing as they did so. And the dresses they wore were very similar or identical to ones at Very, which is good news if you want to channel your inner celebrity and look a million dollars on your next big night out. Let’s take a closer look:

Lucy Mecklenburgh

The model and TV star looked chic and feminine in a red lace dress at the Pride of Britain Sports Awards. The cut of the dress is really flattering as it gives a hint of leg without flashing too much flesh, while the lacy material stands out and makes her look rise above what the rest of the crowd were wearing. The best news – you can get the exact dress at Very with the V by Very high neck origami pleat dress.

Faye Brooks

Faye was nominated for soap’s sexiest female and you can see why as she looked divine in this red bodycon dress at the Inside Soap awards. The Coronation Street star has had some dramatic storylines this year but when the cameras stop rolling she looks gorgeous and girly. You can copy hers style with the V by Very cutout midi pencil dress.

Kate Beckinsale

The British actress has conquered Hollywood and always looks flawless. Kate’s secret is to keep things simple. Less is more when it comes to dressing up for her. With a dress that accentuates her figure, she doesn’t need any accessories. The V by Very high neck ruched jersey dress is very similar to Kate’s rich red dress.

Laura Whitmore

After wowing everyone on Strictly Come Dancing, Laura is wearing more ballgowns these days and looking beautiful as a result. A maxi dress is always flattering as it gives you a streamline silhouette and you can show that off with the red colour. The TFNC Janice pleated maxi dress has a similar halterneck style to Laura’s show-stopping dress.

Which way of wearing red do you like the most? One thing’s for sure, it will lift your spirits and your confidence!

British Fashion Awards 2016

The British Fashion Awards are London’s equivalent of the Met Ball in New York. Organised by the British Fashion Council and held at the Royal Albert Hall, they’re attended by the world’s top models as well as internationally famous singers like Lady Gaga and sports stars like David Beckham. It’s one of the most A’list events of the year!

The night is a celebration of British fashion and the dresses worn are showstopping works of art in their own right. They’re big, they’re bold and they’re beautiful and then the celebrities wear them and make them look even more magical. From black dresses to silver dresses, from strapless dresses to long sleeve dresses, there were a lot of party dress ideas that we can adapt for our own Christmas parties.

Let’s have a closer look:

Gigi Hadid

Gigi flew in from New York for the event and looked bright and beautiful in a silver dress that had trousers underneath. Well, that’s one way to keep warm on a red carpet. Gigi’s not afraid to take risks when it comes to fashion and she pulls it off because she wears it with attitude. Repeat a few positive mantras to yourself in the mirror and you can wear anything!

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga presented the award for best men’s fashion designer to Craig Green, but making an entrance like that down the red carpet she deserves to win one herself for ‘most diva entrance’. She looked chic and eye-catching in a black maxi dress with a cape detail, that she could wrap round herself to stay warm on the red carpet. The dress is simple but when worn with slicked back hair and bold make-up, Gaga really stands out.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie also showed that you don’t have to have a complicated dress to wow at a party. Her black dress is different as it’s sleeveless style shows off a hint of side boob. She looks sporty and healthy and dresses to show that off.

Kate Moss

The original supermodel looked luxurious in a black faux fur coat and a velvet maxi dress with a lot of jewellery. If you want to look expensive then wear a plain dress and a bracelet and ear-rings and let your jewels do the talking!

Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole really had the X Factor in a jumpsuit designed by Julien Macdonald. It’s barely-there but she held her head high, flashed a big smile and feels confident in it. Sometimes wearing a jumpsuit can give you a bit of attitude as you’re not conforming and that’s a powerful feeling. What do you think of her jumpsuit?

Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan also stood out from the crowd by wearing white trousers and a crop top, showing off her incredibly toned abs. If you’ve got it then flaunt it! Also, trousers are increasingly more common on a night out, especially if they have a flattering  flared shape like Jourdan’s have. She was litterally dazzling on that red carpet!

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell has walked enough red carpets and catwalks to know that simple, classic dresses really turn heads. The long sleeve black maxi dress is made from a lovely lace material, and although other people have worn similar dresses to other events, Naomi wears her one well. If someone else wore a lace dress to that event, they would have to change as Naomi owns it thanks to her sleek hair and shining diamond necklace. Wow!

Daisy Lowe

Daisy has her own style and she doesn’t compromise and it paid off at the fashion awards as she looked unique and beautiful in a pink jumpsuit. Not everyone could pull this off, but Daisy doesn’t seem to care what people think and that’s why she always looks good. It’s all about that inner confdence and ‘can-do’ attitude – she’s always willing to try new things and she sets trends rather than following them.

Pixie Lott

Pixie also channeled her inner goddess like Gigi Hadid and opted for a silver dress. She has fun when it comes to fashion and doesn’t take life too seriously and you could tell she was enjoying herself with her handsome model boyfriend Oliver Cheshire by her side for most of the night. They’re one good-looking couple and Pixie made sure everyone noticed them pass in that stunnig silver dress.

Whose dress did you like the most?

Bright Colours At British Independent Film Awards

The British Independent Film Awards highlight and reward the most creative and innovative filmmakers in the UK. These are the people that are making movies on a budget and convincing well-known actors and actresses to star in it because of the quality of the scripts and characters.

The stars that say yes to the film are motivated by creativity and the process of making something beautiful just as much as they are by money – otherwise they would have been tempted by Hollywood. And this creativity applies to their fashion sense as well, because no two stars look similar at these awards. Everyone tends to go all out for colour and there’s usually a unique embellishment or shape to their dress.

Let’s have a closer look at some of the most beautiful dresses, as it’s great inspiration for ways to stand out this Christmas party season:

Anna Friel

Anna’s dress was totally unique with its silk skirt and silver top half. The halterneck style is very flattering as it boosts her bust and looks even better with the skirt that flatters her waist at its slimmest party. But the main reason this dress stands out is because of its colour block style, as so many dresses are just one colour.

Naomie Harris

Naomie, known around the world for her role in the new James Bond movies, won the Variety Award. This award recognises a director, actor, writer or producer who has made a global impact and helped to focus the international spotlight on Britain, which she’s definitely done thanks to Bond. She stood out by not only wearing a midi dress but by wearing a vibrant multicolour midi dress. The colour is gorgeous, particularly on a dark winter’s night – what do you think?

Gemma Arterton

Gemma, also a former Bond girl, kept things classic with a long black one shoulder maxi dress. She’s had a gorgeous cropped hairstyle recently and keeping the dress simple means more people notice the unique hairstyle. A one shoulder dress is a great way to flash a subtle hint of skin on a night out.

Laura Haddock

The InBetweeners actress turned movie star looked elegant in a black maxi dress with a mesh neckline. It’s all about the little details and the neckline makes this stand out from a regular maxi dress. By tying her hair back, she adds to the simple, sophisticated effect as it seems more dramatic.

Laura Carmichael

Laura’s scallop-effect blue maxi dress is totally unique thanks to the crochet material. By wearing something like this you can tell the ex-Downton Abbey actress is trying to get noticed for her next role. She’s showing she can be glam and quirky at the same time, covering all bases. It’s a very pretty dress and she looks girly and feminine in it – this is a dress that will mean you’ll have someone to hold under the misteltoe.

Eleanor Tomlinson

The Poldark actress wowed in a green maxi dress that contrasted beautifully with her red hair. At recent celebrity parties, there’s often been a star in a green dress and they’ve stood out each time.

Who do you think stood out the most?

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: The Best Bits

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is a production on the scale of The Oscars or The Grammys. Although nobody wins awards, the models chosen to walk have the honour of knowing that they’re at the top of the game as only the best are chosen for Victoria’s Secret. And the people lucky enough to be in the audience are winners as the show is the hottest ticket in the world!

Every year, it’s held in a different city and this year the models, their stylists, hairdressers, nail artists, security and other entourage members descended on the French capital, Paris. Paris is a romantic city and the Victoria’s Secret show is smouldering, sensual and sumptuous – a perfect match.

The models had a few outfit changes from the show to the after-party while there were also some gorgeous looks to be seen on the spectators. The whole event was fantastic inspiration for both lingerie and what to wear over the top of it during the party season. After all, if you want to feel fantastic all over it starts with some lovely lingerie that feels as gorgeous as it looks.

The Lingerie

Gigi Hadid

It’s Gigi’s second time as a Victoria’s Secret model so she was given more responsibility. Her bright cape was one of the highlights of the night and it really made her red underwear set stand out. Red is ideal for this time of year – it’s both flirty and Christmassy. If you wear red lingerie under your outfit, it gives you confidence knowing that you are being daring underneath whatever you’re wearing on top.

Kendall Jenner

It was also the second time for Kendall and you could tell by the way she walked. She knew what she was doing. A simple white lace bra and thong set is a lingerie draw staple and it looks stunning as white improves all skin complexions.

Alessandra Ambrosio

A black knickers and bra set can look really fabulous and fierce, as Alessandra showed. You never have to worry about flashing something you shouldn’t when you wear black as it blends in under a black dress, supporting your shape and flattering your figure in an invisible way. Shapewear is a lifesaver during the party season.

Bella Hadid

It was the first time for Gigi’s younger sister Bella and so when the work was done she’d earned the after-party.  The silver dress that she wore to party in was stunning. It really caught the light and dazzled as she danced. If you can’t wear sequins and silver at Christmas, when can you?

Irina Shayk

There are rumours that Irina is pregnant with actor Bradley Cooper’s baby and she did dress to hide her shape in a striped dress. However, there’s no denying that her over the knee boots are stunning. These are definitely party boots!

Lais Rhibero

Lais may not be a household name like some of the other models, but she dressed to get noticed in a gold dress. When you want to make an impact and turn heads, gold is the answer. If you’ve always wanted to try gold, a Christmas party is a good opportunity to wear one.

Adriana Lima

Adriana’s one of the longest-serving models and you can tell she means business. Even at the after-party she power-dressed in a tuxedo blazer dress. She added to the girl boss effect with slicked back hair and a wild pout. You wouldn’t want to mess with her!

The spectators also put on their best outfits to make sure they didn’t let the side down! If you get invited to a show like this then you need to compete on the fashion front.

Doutzen Kroes

She’s a former VS model so she had a lot to prove. She pulled it off as her lace top was stunning!

Lottie Moss

Lottie looked really pretty in a prom style dress. Sometimes you don’t have to show everything off to look good. She looks classy and elegant as well as feminine.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga performed during the show and also had several outfit changes. However, this black lace maxi dress is one of the best. She looked gorgeous and girly, showing that you don’t have to try to hard for a night out to look amazing.

Stars Dazzle In Dreamy Dresses On ITV Gala Red Carpet

The ITV Gala is the Christmas party for the TV presenters and reality TV stars that grace ITV and ITV Be. Held at the London Palladium Theatre, the stars are entertained, fed and watered and mingle with each other – just like at any other party, really.

With that comes dressing to impress as they know that when they look gorgeous, they feel even better. Also, the celebs know that people are going to be looking them and judging accordingly, so the pressure’s off when they look divine. If you want a promotion at work or you just want to impress someone you’ve been trying to approach for ages, then looking your best is a great start.

Do you have your party outfits sorted yet? Let’s have a look at what the celebs wore to this one for some inspiration. It looks like colour is the way forward with gorgeous golds and reds and some jumpsuits and trouser suits to add a cool edge to party fashion.

Holly Willoughby

Holly sparkled in a gold dress that hugged her curves and made her look as bootylicious as Beyonce. If you can’t get away with gold and sequins at Christmas, when can you?  It makes her look like she’s stepped off the red carpet at the Oscars – it’s seriously gorgeous!

Emma Willis

The Big Brother and The Voice host showed that a jumpsuit can be as dramatic as a dress. Her black jumpsuit really suits her and it looks like she’s really comfortable. If you feel comfortable, you can hold your head high and really enjoy your night.

The Loose Women TV presenter really embraced colour with a stunning velvet blue maxi dress. The fabric is sumptuous, the colour is rich and it makes her look a million dollars. Jamelia did well, don’t you think?

Fearne Cotton

Fearne always does things differently to the crowds, setting trends rather than following, and the ITV gala was no exception. She showed of her lovely legs in an animal print sequin mini dress embellished with sequins – talk about making a statement! This is a dress to wear if you really want to wow!

Laura Whitmore

Laura looked every inch the ballroom dancing princess in a red maxi dress and looked stunning. Often, she wears a lot of mini dresses to show off her long legs, but since she’s started Strictly she realises the appeal of a maxi dress. It’s easier to wear for a ball or party than a mini dress as its flattering and you don’t need to worry about pulling it down. Maxi dresses also flare out as you move around the dancefloor, making you feel like the belle of the ball.

Kady McDermott

After starring in ITV Be reality show Love Island in the summer, Kady is trying to raise her profile and she certainly got people noticing her in a black lace maxi dress. It’s a bold dress but it definitely got her noticed and it does flatter her figure. Lace is lovely for the Christmas party season.

Chloe Lewis

There were several TOWIE stars at the party, but Chloe stood out the most for wearing  trouser suit and a white one at that. It takes power dressing to another level, especially as she’s scraped her hair back to look even more fierce. You wouldn’t mess with someone wearing this, so if you want to get taken seriously at a party this is a great option. It looks striking and is seriously stunning.

Michelle Keegan

It’s so nice to see Michelle in something other than a dress! The actress and winner of Soap’s Sexiest TV star for many years in a row usually plays up to her feminine side, but this has changed since she started in solidier drama Our Girl. The monochrome trouser suit is such a fun look and she rocks it well with a big bouncy blowdry. This is a power suit and power hair now that she’s establishing herself as a serious actress.

The Elephant Family Celebrity Ball

The Elephant Family is a popular charity among celebrities, royals and the finance world for two reasons. Firstly, everyone loves animals and this is a small charity that directs as much money as possible to the animals that need it rather than organisational costs. Secondly, there’s usually a theme at the ball, which makes it a lot of fun. As celebrities party a lot of the time, it’s much more exciting when there’s a theme to make life a little different.

This year there was a jungle theme, with actors dressed as animals, circus performers dressed as animals and the venue decorated with leaves and greenery like a jungle. The celebs all had head-dresses to really add the wow factor to their looks. As it was a ball, everyone went for maxi dresses in various bold colours and sumptuous textures. It’s fantastic inspiration at this time of year if you want to turn heads at a Christmas party and feel fabulous.

The most stunning outfits are those worn by:

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding was the belle of the ball in a gold dress. When you wear gold, you make a real statement that you want to have a special night. However, gold is also a flattering colour, helping you to appear bronzed, beautiful and super confident as a result.

Donna Air

Donna attended with her boyfriend James Middleton (sister of the Duchess of Cambridge) and turned heads in a gold maxi dress. When you wear gold, people turn and look to see who is shimmering their way through the party. When the light shines on a gold dress, you’re lit up and look stunning.

Anna Friel

Anna worked a vintage style in a white maxi dress with short sleeves that made her look like an old-fashioned Hollywood screen siren. It’s pretty, it’s elegant and it’s sophisticated, showing that you don’t need to show too much skin to get attention. White and sequins are a killer combination!

Elizabeth Hurley

The actress and Estee Lauder model looked divine in an electric blue dress. When in doubt, wear colour and you’ll always get noticed for the right reasons. Another benefit of colour is that you can keep the shape of the dress simple as the colour is what people are looking at. Also, you don’t need too many accessories as everyone is looking at the dress.

Princess Eugenie

The young royal attended with her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, amid rumours they’re engaged and they do look happy together. She’s dressing her best in a black lace maxi dress and looking sophisticated but with a sensual edge with the lace detail. Lace is a great way to liven up a black dress.

Whose dress do you think wows the most?

Glamour Magazine US Women Of The Year Awards

If Glamour magazine invites you to a party, you know the dress code has to be glamorous. That’s what the stars stuck to for the Glamour Magazine Women Of The Year summit in America and it was fabulous to see colourful dresses and dresses with lace embellishment brighten up a winter’s night.

With the run up to the Oscars in February, most awards ceremonies take place in the early part of the year, so it’s a refreshing change to have one in the lead up to Christmas. That’s the time when we all have to think about glamorous dresses for the party season and when we need inspiration the most.

If you want to shine like a star at your Christmas party then try something a little bit different just like these gorgeous celebs:

Cara Delevingne

We rarely see the social media savvy supermodel in a dress but when she goes for it she looks incredible. A long sleeve maxi dress looks really elegant as the wide detail on top and the wide skirt highlight the waist and give you a 1950s hourglass shape. Lace makes the dress more interesting and makes people stop and stare at the fabric. It’s the ideal way to show off a hint of flesh in a subtle way.

Gwen Stefani

The No Doubt singer always brings a look of theatre to her stage outfits and when she’s at a party, she’s equally bold and attention- grabbing for all the right reasons. She looked stunning in a monochrome maxi dress made out of floaty chiffon. It looked lovely as she arrived and better as she danced. If you want to feel special all night, chiffon will make you feel like a Princess.

Jenna Dewan Tatum

Channing Tatum’s actress wife looked super pretty in a green maxi dress that looked lovely against her dark hair. Green is a colour that you don’t often see on the red carpet so when you wear it you will shine in a crowd.

Demi Lovato

The American singer bucked the trend for maxi dresses and stood out for wearing a prom style black midi dress. This is the sort of dress you could party hard in – it would feel fantastic on the dance floor as you won’t overheat and it will move as you move.

Amber Heard

The American model and actress stepped out to a big awards ceremony for the first time since the Johnny Depp separation battle looking cute and pretty in a cream maxi dress. She’s a real girly girl and she dresses to show that off. At this year, you can really go to town on sequins, nudes and pinks because if you can’t go all out for Christmas, when can you?

Which celebrity do you think stood out the most? It’s quite rare to see Cara Delevingne in a dress!

Baby 2 Baby Celebrity Charity Fundraiser: Formal Dresses

How can you turn down an invitation to raise money for charity? Celebrities often can’t and when they commit to something, they do it properly. As there’s no point in doing things by halves, when A’list celebrities organised a fundraising gala ball for the newborns charity Baby 2 Baby, they certainly made it fun and fabulous.

All the celebrities dressed up, there was a dinner and dancing until the early hours. As they’d gone to such an effort with their outfits, it made them want to make the most of their night. When you know that you look good, you just don’t want the night to end.

Let’s have a closer look at what they wore to feel their best so we can get some inspiration for our next big night out:

Kate Hudson

Kate looked gorgeous in a grey dress, which complemented her golden skin. Grey helps skin look more tanned just like white, but it’s easier to wear as its not as dazzling. Kate looks very classy, don’t you think?

Kelly Rowland

Emerald green is a gorgeous colour for parties and Kelly looks so pretty in a green jumpsuit. If a jumpsuit fits you well and it’s a striking colour, it can be just as smart as a dress.

Jennifer Garner

The actress looked chic and elegant in a blue maxi dress that has a Princess  style cut. It’s not flashy but it’s well made and it flatters her figure as it shows off her slim waist and flares out around the bottom half to draw the eye to the top half. What do you think?

Jessica Alba

The actress, dancer and eco-guru looked lovely in  a black maxi dress with unique lace and feather detail. It’s fun to experiment with texture as it always looks more expensive than a plain black dress, even if it costs the same. Wear a dress with unique fabric like this if you want to set trends rather than follow them.

Jenna Dewan

Jenna showed off what attracted her husband Channing Tatum to her in a strapless pink dress. A strapless dress always looks feminine and it creates a lovely hourglass shape as it boosts the bust and slims the waist. It’s a great way to show off a hint of flesh while keeping classy.

Jaime King

The American actress had a super cute bardot dress – one of this season’s hottest trends. As it goes out at the shoulders, it makes the waist look slimmer and the navy colour is rich and expensive looking.

Whose outfit do you like the most? Isn’t it nice to see celebs do their bit for charity?

Celebrity Style Steal: Little Mix’s Night Out

Little Mix are at the top of the charts with their incredibly catchy anthem Shout Out To My Ex and they’re glowing as a result of their success. On a night out this week, the smiles on their face were clear to see. They all looked fabulous as they strutted down the street with their heads held high.

They’re strong, independent women and they can wear what they like  – and they do. For their night out, they all combined feminine and fierce in different ways. Jade Thirlwall looked especially good in a dark red dress, which is a lovely colour in winter.

This look is easy to copy if you want to give a message to your ex that you’re better off without him! Or  maybe you want to have everyone look at you in awe and have men trying to eat out of your hand. Jade’s dress is a similar colour to the AX Paris high neck midi dress and for the powerful over the knee boots, I like the V by Very Rosie faux suede over the knee boots.

Jade’s bandmate  and BFF Leigh-Anne Pinnock showed that it’s possible to look strong and girly at the same time in a cool black maxi dress with gladiator sandals.

To copy her look you need the V by Very structured shoulder maxi dress with the V by Very metallic gladiator tie up sandals.

It’s hard to imagine that these ladies started off on X Factor but they definitely have the X Factor when it comes to dressing up don’t they? Whose outfit would you most like to wear for a night out?

Cara Delevingne Launches Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara

Cara Delevingne is a party-loving model so she couldn’t release a new product line without throwing a celebration. As Cara is cooler than most, she made sure that hers was the best party in town that night as it was uber exclusive. The catwalk star didn’t invite just anyone to the celebration of her collaboration with Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara but picked her favourite MOBO award-winning artists to perform for an intimate crowd.

Cara didn’t bother to wear a dress as she knew that the impact would be greater if she stuck to what she did best – a statement jacket and some fabulously fierce ripped jeans. She knows what suits her!

When worn with scandalously eye-catching eye make-up, this is a super cool outfit that’s a little bit cooler than most things you’ll see people wearing. Sometimes the simplest outfits are the best because it makes everyone wonder: ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’

The good news is its simplicity makes it easy to copy. The Superdry Alia bomber jacket has a black panel just like Cara’s and works fabulously with a crop top like the Miss Selfridge crop corset top. Then you need high-waisted ripped jeans like the V by Very high rise Ella ripped knee skinny jeans with some platform ankle books like the V by Very Irving military ankle boots.

Her friends also turned heads with their cool casual outfits. Mobo winner Lady Leshurr looked pretty without looking like she’d tried too hard.

Jeans and a checked shirt are a classic combination – you can dress something like that up and down, which is perfect if you’re running from event to event over the party season.

Meanwhile singer Nadia Rose entertained the small audience and made sure people stopped talking and started watching her. She has incredible stage presence and you just can’t beat white if you want to get everyone’s attention.

Don’t fancy going too over the top this party season? No worries! Cara and her pals show that simple outfits can work for a night out.

MTV EMA Awards 2016: Top 7 Stunning Celeb Looks

Every year, the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) get bigger and better and now they’re in their 22nd year, it’s one slick operation. This year they took place in Rotterdam in Holland and acts from around the world made the quaint city go wild. From singers like Bebe Rexha and Zara Larsson to TV presenters like Laura Whitmore, reality stars like Charlotte Crosby and models like Jourdan Dunn, the event attracts more stars than any other award ceremony in recent months. It’s massive!

To win an MTV award is a huge honour as everyone’s heard of MTV and for most stars, winning this award has been a childhood dream. But even the stars that went home empty -handed had a chance to win on the fashion front. The red carpet gave everyone the chance to grab attention, hopefully for the right reasons. These 7 stunning celebs did it better than the rest:

(1) Bebe Rexha

Bebe was the hostess with the most-est as she set the tone perfectly in a black maxi dress with gorgeous thigh-high split. Some music industry execs were sceptical that a young star like Bebe would be able to host such a key night but she proved everyone wrong as she made the night fun, entertaining and very humorous, earning herself  a flock of new fans in the process.

(2) Zara Larsson

The Swedish singer performed a fabulous medley of Lush Life and Aint My Fault at the awards, giving them her all. It was incredible to watch and Zara made sure that all eyes were watching her when she walked down the red carpet. A white dress is impossible to miss and the lace detail makes it even more eye-catching.

(3) Jourdan Dunn

The British supermodel wowed in a black sequin dress, showing that us Brits know how to do fashion on a world stage. It’s sleek, streamlined and a simple shape and she wears it well as with a dress like that you don’t need any accessories – the sequins shine in their own right.

(4) Laura Whitmore

Laura showed off her long legs in a wine coloured mini dress, which really suited her complexion. Dark reds (and dark greens) warm up the skin, making you look lovely and tanned. Her black platform sandals help lengthen her legs even more but they’re easy to walk in as they support your feet. Chunky heels are the way forward if you want to end the night as glam as you started it.

(5) Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries actress looked chic and sophisticated in a lavender purple maxi dress. We rarely see this colour so she stood out and it did complement her hair colour. Sometimes it’s worth taking a risk and doing something different and if it works like Nina’s dress did, everyone will wish they tried it first.

(6) Winnie Harlow

Like Jourdan, model Winnie Harlow also wore a sequin dress. The fashion world clearly know that this is the time of year to wear sequins. Her mini dress is so Christmassy with its green, red and gold tones – doesn’t she look fab?

(7) Charlotte Crosby

The Geordie Shore star looked super elegant and a world apart from her alter ego on the MTV reality show. Forget what she does on the show as she looks like sweet, innocent and feminine in this black midi dress. It shows that you can put your reputation behind you in the right dress. We could all wear something completely different to our usual style and shock all our friends for the right reasons at the next night out. What do you think?
