The runways of fashion week spilled over with frills and ruffles adorning everything from dresses to coats and shoes to accessories. Along with florals and delicate pastel shades the trends of the season seem determined to get us all expressing our feminine side…
The last ‘frou frou’ item of clothing in my wardrobe was discarded back in 1985 – a pale blue party dress with puffy sleeves and tiered skirt – I was eight years old and since then my party outfits have been more of the jeans, top and heels variety. That said, ruffles don’t need to be confined to parties, with so much on offer there is something available to suit any and every occasion – making it easy to incorporate this trend in your wardrobe. A few careful purchases are all it takes…
This Love Label pintuck oversize blouse would look great with jeans or worn with leggings and will take you effortlessly from spring to summer.
I have recently purchased these suede platform shoes, again by Love Label, they are gorgeous and worn with skinny jeans they look lovely but when teamed with a simple dress they are stunning!
I love this Vero Moda satin dress, it would be perfect for a summer wedding but being of pale skin this colour simply has no place in my wardrobe. I envy those that can carry it off, it has just the right amount of frill and embellishment.
At the top of my wish list though has to be this sheer pale pink ruffle blouse by Lipsy – imagine it teamed with your favourite jeans and ballet pumps for cute daytime look or paired with slinky black trousers and killer heels for a night out. Delicious!
There really is something for everyone. Can you see yourself in ruffles?
