Gok’s Fashion Fix: New series, episode 2

I’m seriously loving the new series of Gok’s Fashion Fix already! I particularly love the section with all the ladies in a dark old hall searching for a style update and looking a million dollars in something from the back of someone else’s wardrobe. Fashion at its very best.

But in reality, I love the thrill of getting my brand new clothes delivered to my door in their cute Very bag too much to start raiding my mate’s cupboards and what better excuse to buy something than “Gok’s Fashion Fix told me to do it” (innocent face)!

This trend reappears ever year with a different name and a slightly different emphasis. And who can blame us for loving it?! It’s always a bonus when comfortable also equals style.

 Moroccan Bazaar

The year so far has been about tribal and African patterns, and with the new SATC movie out (filmed in Morocco, set in Abu Dhabi) trendsetters have seriously pinpointed their influence for ‘right now’. Imagine a colourful, bustling marketplace: the sights; the sounds; the atmosphere. Now turn that into an outfit – it’s easier than you think!

This look isn’t the first port of call for a city-slicker but it’s surprisingly metropolitan. Choose jeggings over jodhpurs and a leather satchel over a whip; add a long white shirt (a slim-fit man’s is best) and flat boots or pumps and there, you’re done. Style your neck-scarf like a cravat for the ultimate finishing touch.

Floral Grunge

This is the easiest trend to replicate if you’ve already stocked up on this season’s floral prints. Give their prettiness an edgy finish with tough accessories and a layer of black leather or denim.
