World Cup Fashion Face Off: Brazil vs Korea

Now the World Cup is definitely on and pubs are packed to the brim with football fanatics, but if you’re like me and would rather avoid the whole shenanigans then fix your eye firmly on a World Cup of a different kind…. the fashion face-off!

I love this little fashion themed World Cup idea – far better than the usual football fare. For those of you who haven’t seen what’s going on here at Very – the basic premise is that the World Cup countries are going head-to-head in the fashion stakes with Very putting together a unique look for each country and asking all us fashion fans to vote on our favourite! I’ve loved the entries so far and this week looks like a real battle with two strong statement looks from Brazil and Korea.

Brazil has ‘copacabanna’ as their theme, so think bright splashes of colour and sexy details while Korea has ‘utility chic’ so plenty of strong military style interwoven with soft, feminine touches.

Brazil’s collection features colourful dresses with bold prints – I especially love the printed one shoulder dress that would be fab for a night out, or for something a little more bold the frill dress is sexy with a flamenco spin. Gold details also feature heavily in the collection – a gold bikini, strappy sandals and peacock earrings to add a bit of bling to your outfit.

Korea’s utility chic might not sound impressive on paper but it looks great! I’m a fan of the military styles that have been floating about recently so I think this one could actually scoop the vote this week! Army colours, combat trousers and utility jackets with soft pink and lace tops underneath are the key themes here as well as studded jewellery and big belts.

My vote’s going to go to Korea this week – I think it’s a strong statement look and although it’s not as feminine as the Brazil style it’s still a girly take on the military theme.

Cast your vote now here at and make sure your favourite look makes it through to the next round!
