Hot Summer Accessories: Fascinators

2010 has been the year of some serious comeback fashion items – from the 80’s jelly shoes (ahh the nostalgia) to playsuits and dungarees; it’s all been a bit of a flashback really. In the accessories department it’s all cute bows, feathers and flowers as we make our headwear  a centrepiece with the return of fascinators and headbands – and it’s not just for weddings either!

Bows are a major contender in the headband stakes with everything from tiny black bows to full on Minnie Mouse powder pink giant bows. If you want to combine two of this season’s hottest trends – floral print and headbands then check out this Ditsy print headband which features a cute bow with a tiny pink floral print.

If feathers are more your thing then you’ll be spoilt for choice but if you want something understated for a daytime look then check out this spot feather and bow headband which has cute black and white spotted feathers with a black bow but is quite sleek, rather than looking like you’ve got a bird on your head (a la Carrie in Sex and the City). For an evening look, add a bit of glitz with this black feather headband with flower diamante brooch – pair with a little black dress and peep toe heels for some vintage glamour.

If you want something a little more outrageous for a night out then go all out with the feathers and try this feather headband which has loads of 1920s flapper style glam and will jazz up any outfit. If you’ve got a flapper style dress this is the perfect accompaniment!

So, if you want to add some serious glam to your accessories collection then try out a headband or fascinator today and give your shoe collection a break by making your head the centre of attention!
