Kate Moss Paints The Town Black At Exhibition

It looked like Kate Moss had a bad hangover the night after a star-studded private view of a collection of photos taken in her early modelling days.

Legendary photographer Mario Testino is selling 18 photos of the model taken in 1996 when she was 22 – and the day after the fabulous launch party the toll of the past 14 years looked like it had caught up with her.

However, she did look stunning the night before in her one-shoulder asymmetric dress.

We caught up with Mario, the man behind the exhibition, who revealed a strange insight into his friend and muse by saying: “Kate’s really shy. I go to an event with her and she’s trembling because she’s really nervous.  Always!”

And there was us thinking she was just cold and snobby and above talking to the rest of us mere mortals….

The lavish party was held at the Phillips de Pury & Co gallery in Londn’s Mayfair where the snaps will be on display until 16 July.

There to hold Kate’s hand was her long-term boyfriend Jamie Hince and her oldest mates like designers Stella McCartney, Donatella Versace and Burberry’s Christopher Bailey as well as her Topshop boss Sir Phillip Green.

And when you’re Kate Moss, you can’t go straight home after a bash. The gang went to Mark’s club – a private members club in Mayfair – to continue the celebrations until the early hours of the following morning.

Presumably Kate’s nanny was on hand the next day to do the school run for her daughter Lila Grace!

Mario, whose photographs grace fashion magazines from Vogue to Grazia, is also bringing out a book titled Kate Who? On 25 July.

We look forward to another launch party and another excuse to see how Kate dresses for the party.

In the meantime, her LBD look can easily be recreated with one of the gorgeous women’s dresses at Very. New in-stock is an Oasis origami one sleeve dress

Stay with the black look but add some sexy fringe detail with a Glam by Caprice one shoulder fringe dress

Or try another of the new arrivals with a satin Teatro one shoulder dress, which comes in black as well as scarlet. Stunning!

There were no price tags on display on the photos, but Testino and Kate could rake it in from this exhibition.

The gallery once sold a Testino photo of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger for £60,000. Ker-ching!
