My Very Own Style Rules

I have a list of unwritten style rules that I have unconsciously compiled over the years, which have undoubtedly helped my style evolve to what it is today – classic with a hint of quirkiness and a penchant for unusual jewellery.

As for my ‘rules’, I’ll give you an few examples…

  • I will only ever wear trainers when involved in some form of sporting activity (which admittedly isn’t very often).
  • You’ll also never find me wearing a black bra under a white top – I believe underwear should always be hidden.
  • For me hosiery worn with sandals is a no-no, some people look great but its a look that I just can’t pull off!
  • And then there is anything navy. I just can’t bring myself to wear that colour.

And the list goes on…

Occasionally I bend or break these rules of mine but there is one that I never falter on – if it has a high hemline, it has to have a high neckline too. Its just my preference. Luckily for me Very have a great range of women’s dresses including a selection that allow me to stick to my ‘rule’.

Here are my favourite five;

This French Connection dress is a great alternative to the LBD. Simply devine!
The embellishment on this Love Label dress makes it really special. Wear with metallic shoes.
Floral, cute and sassy - perfect for summer and teamed with tights and chunky knits will take you into Autumn/Winter
Clock blocking is incredibly flattering, giving a sleek silhouette. This People's Market dress can easily be dressed up or down.
Ted Baker has created the perfect mix of the graphic print and zip fastening trends.
