I love the first viewing – the smell of the print, the crackle of the page as I turn it, the making of my mental wish list as I browse through. I find it a thoroughly enjoyable experience, so-much-so that when I’m finished I turn to the front and start all over again!
The catalogue is packed with ideas on trends and styling but what I like most are the ‘Very Loves’. They pick their favourite pieces from the new collection and Fearne and Holly join in too – its great to see the items loved by others, some how you just know they are going to be best sellers!
The things highest on my ‘Hazel Loves’ wish list (and it is a long list) are;
Not that I want to think about having to put a coat on again just yet, but this is lovely. I love the shape and dark green colour, both of which encapsulate the military trend that will stay strong in the coming season.
Being cold doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish. I think this would look fabulous with jeans, leather gloves and boots, finished off with a big slouchy bag.
The Love Label brand is one I always look to for inspiration, having been delighted with all my purchases from the range so far. The new season collection doesn’t disappoint – take a look at Love Label…
This is one of Very’s ‘Looks for Less’ items. This is not a case of sacrificing style for value – its gorgeous! The pintuck detail on the front and hemline are a lovely feature and the frill on the sleeves makes it feminine without being over-the-top girlie.
I’d team a black one, (its available in 4 colours – black, nude, midnight and purple) with brightly coloured opaque tights – crimson or purple – and black shoe boots with a heel, the higher the better! I’d finish off with a statement necklace and small understated clutch bag.
Perfect for Christmas parties! (My sincere apologies for mentioning the festive season in July).
Again, sorry for thinking about wrapping up warm and cold weather but this is simply gorgeous, although I may be swayed by my newly found love of knitting with this piece.
It combines colour and texture reminiscent of the ‘Christmas jumpers’ of my childhood. Although I seem to remember that I didn’t like them back then…
I can just imagine it worn over a crisp white shirt belted at the waist with a brown leather belt and dark blue skinny jeans. Or worn over a PJs with big cosy slippers on the days that are simply to cold to contemplate anything other than curling up on the sofa with a mug of tea and a soppy DVD.
I’ve been wearing clogs this summer and am delighted that the trend is set to continue.
These French Connection ankle boots have just the right combination of heel shape, height and width along with great leather work and stud detail. I like the platform sole too for adding a little extra height and some length to the leg.
How amazing would these look worn with the military trench coat above? Or with wide leg jeans? Or both? I think ‘Very’!
