Stay Cool And Look Chic Like Stella McCartney

With four children and her own business to run Stella McCartney needs to combine style with practicality. And the daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney did just that when she attended a private viewing of a new exhibition showcasing photography by her late mother, Linda McCartney.

Stella was looking chic in a powdery blue-grey sixties inspired shift dress that highlighted her amazing legs and toned arms. Looks like someone’s been hitting the gym since giving birth!

Keeping true to her signature minimal and understated look, Stella kept jewellery to a minimum so the dress stood out. However, her gorgeous shoes did get noticed – those midnight blue velvet court shoes are a beautiful colour.

Very can reveal that Stella was joined by a large turn out of celebrities at the party including Twiggy, Lulu, Lily Cole, Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor Wood and boyfriend Aaron Johnson.

The exhibition at London gallery Phillips De Pury is entitled “Linda McCartney – Life In Photographs”, and was put together in close collaboration with Paul McCartney and the McCartney family. Featuring highlights from over 200,000 photographs of Linda’s work, the selection includes images of The Beatles (naturally), Stevie Wonder and even Michael Jackson.

As well as helping curate the exhibition, Stella has also lent a creative hand to the London 2012 Olympics, as creative director of the Adidas ‘Team GB’ range. You can see two of her tops at

The sports giant are said to be hoping that the designs will become must-have items, and with Stella’s track record of collections, we’re sure the team will be looking like sartorial winners!

Just one thing though Stella: watch out for competition from the daughter of another music legend: Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella has been picked by Puma – the sponsor of the Jamaican team – to create the Jamaican athletes’ clothes.

There’s going to be an Olympic fashion-off!

For a slice of Stella’s’ simple and understated shift style, the South Jewel Neck Shift Dress is ideal, and comes with a beautiful jewel embellished neckline to add drama.

Or try a refreshing mint colour with the Teatro embellished shift dress

The Coleen Wooden Trim Tunic comes in a summery linen – perfect for the warmer months – and has a beautiful wooden beaded neck detail so you don’t need any more accessories.

For the drama of Stella’s midnight blue court shoes, try the Teatro Garter Peep Toe Platform Court Shoes, which come in an amazing electric blue with cute bow detail.

Team with a matching blue clutch bag like the Satin Bow Bag to complete the look.

It’s a gold medal for Stella for this look – easy to wear but very elegant.
