Clever Smartphones for Work and Play

Many of you lovely lot on Facebook have many questions about smartphones – which ones you should buy, which ones I’d recommend, etc, etc. So! I thought I should take this opportunity to give you a rundown of which smartphones I would recommend for work, play, and a bit of both!

For Work

If you mainly plan on using your smartphone for work – checking emails, making phone calls, downloading and reading documents – Blackberry rules! While there aren’t as many cool apps available for Blackberry as there are for Androids or the iPhone, this is probably best if you plan on using it mostly for work. If you want a Blackberry with both a touchscreen and a keyboard, go for the Blackberry Torch!

For Play

If you want a fun phone that you can download all of the popular apps such as funky camera filters or Tweetdeck, a touchscreen smartphone such as the HTC Sensation will do the trick! It has an 8 megapixel camera that has an LED flash, as well as a full HD camcorder! Alternatively, if you’re more of a Windows fan, check out the Samsung Omnia 7, which runs on Windows Phone 7 has a 5 megapixel camera.

For a Bit of Both

If you want a phone that’s fantsatic for both work and play, the new HTC ChaCha – commonly called “The Facebook Phone” – is powered by Android, and has a 2.6 inch touchscreen, as well as a keyboard which makes for easy emailing and status updates. This phone is a lot of fun, is all about social networking, but its keyboard means you can send off important work emails in between the fun.
