Geri Halliwell seems to get better with age, looking sun-kissed and glowing as she took part in a recent catwalk show.
The former Spice Girl was modelling satin evening dresses – a hard look for anyone to pull off – but she looked healthy and happy as she walked the runway to rapturous applause.
Maybe her old bandmate Victoria Beckham should ask Geri some tips for her own fashion range. The former Ginger Spice is looking confident, holding her head high and it suits her!
She exclusively chatted about her approach to fashion, revealing she has often made outfits herself. Impressive! Read about her influences in this mni interview below:
QS: How would you describe your fashion sense?
GERI: “I try to buy pieces that look elegant enough to wear to an upmarket event but are good value for money. I don’t spend ridiculous amounts n fashion but I like to look good in dresses or suit or whatever.”
QS: Do you know how to use a sewing machine?
GERI: “I’ve always loved fashion, I’ve always made my own clothes. I’ll customise a t-shirtwith sequins or alter the hem of a dress.”
QS: Have you ever worn any of your customized clothes in public?
GERI: “The first time I was on TV I wore something on ‘GMTV’ that I’d made myself. The seams were coming undone, but I did design it! I’ve always designed my own clothes from a very young age. It was a very natural thing for me.”
QS: What about the Union Jack dress you wore to the Brits?
GERI: That dress I wore for the Brits was my idea: someone sent me a black Gucci dress so I sewed on a Union Jack tea towel to liven it up a bit.’
QS: Is there any rivalry between you and Victoria Beckham or the other Spice Girls
GERI: No, we’re all very different. Victoria is all high-end. She would always be out shopping for Prada shoes. I’m more creative.
