X Factor’s Amelia Lily narrowly avoided being booted off the X Factor this week, shortly after she was just voted back in!
The poor teenager was up against Craig Colton in the sing off, and luckily for her she received more of the public vote. The dramatic episode ended in a stand-off when she was saved by Louis Walsh and Kelly Rowland while Craig was supported by Gary Barlow and Tulisa.
While she must be feeling relieved, it would have stung when Gary said she shouted through her save me song You and I. Shouting? Harsh!
After Sunday night’s show, Very can exclusively reveal that Kelly Rowland spent 20 minutes in her dressing room, urging her to hold her head high. Kelly realises her girl is in a fragile mental state as earlier in the week, Amelia burst into tears at rehearsals – in front of everyone.
According to our sources backstage, Amelia cried on stage when she couldn’t get her tone right and kept crying in the canteen, without a care for who was watching. She was eventually comforted by Kelly again, who urged her to go out with her head held high and make her family proud. Lets hope she can remember Kelly’s advice for next week.
It was Liverpool lad Craig Colton whose dreams of winning X Factor ended this week as the judging panel was at deadlock after his excellent performance.
There are two reasons why Craig did not receive enough of the public vote to avoid being placed in the bottom two. Firstly, he’s from a similar background to Marcus, so there’s not enough backing from people in his neighbourhood. And secondly, he’s been seen out on dates with 2008 contestant Danyl Johnson, who was not at all popular with the public. It’s sad to see him go.
Although Misha B sailed through this week’s votes without being in the bottom two, it was also an emotional week for her. We all saw her in tears on the show after her birth mother made contact with her but our sources say what we saw was the tip of the iceberg and the normally feisty singer has been really quiet in the X Factor house since it came out. We hope she feels better soon!
Janet Devlin went for a touch of power dressing on Saturday’s show with sky high heels and ended up towering over the host Dermot O’Leary.
But Very understands she’s trying to cover up a lack of confidence. She’s conscious of competing against both Amelia Lily and Misha for Kelly’s attention and has complained to key people backstage of feeling left out. While it’s good for her to voice her opinions, maybe it’s not great to moan at this stage in the competition.
Marcus Collins is now the only male left in the competition. However, this does mean he has the full attention of his mentor Gary Barlow. We’re jealous!
Little Mix sailed through the show with no drama. They’re now bookies favourites to win the show and have support of tonnes of celebrities. Twilight’s Taylor Lautner said they’re his faves and last year’s contestants One Direction also back them. It could be the first year ever that a group wins the show.
We loved the girl bands monochrome chic and the preppy look is so in right now.
