The look I wanted to create was something completely different for the lovely Liz, our 1st makeover winner as when I saw the dress she was wearing I thought of Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks. Liz had just dyed her hair flame red and red hair needs strong make-up and red lips are soooooo in fashion!
Initially when I suggested ‘red’ her face was a picture, but the right red can make teeth look whiter and completely brighten the face. I started by preparing Liz’s skin by plucking her eyebrows with the cutest Mister Mascara Girl Tweezers. Then I applied Daniel Sandler’s re-texturizing primer which is awesome as it smooths out fine lines evenly and improves your skin’s texture and your make-up will last longer. Then I applied Daniel Sandler Waterbase Foundation with concealer as the two complement each other.
Using the Daniel Sandler base brush I began to get to work on enhancing and making Liz’s skin ‘glow’. In the lid of the foundation it has a matching concealer which is ideal for covering any little imperfections and dark circles. I always add a little concealer to the inner corners as these tend to be bluish and when concealer is applied here it really opens up the eye.
Powder swirl and polish the skin as this sets the make-up. Here I used Daniel Sandler’s invisible blotting powder. Dust on the lids to remove any excess oil and help with your eye shadow blending. I applied shadow as I love the Love label Summer Eye Palette and even though it’s autumn this palette is so flattering. I belnded the light shadow all over the lid and brow bone, then contour in the socket line with the gorgeous camel shadow which really brought her eyes to life.
An Audrey Hepburn flick was added by using a black eyeliner then I curled the lashes with something I can’t ever be without – Mister mascara Lash curler before adding lashings of my favourite YSL Volume False Lash Effect Black Mascara.
I also added Eylure Naturalites strip lashes – evening wear (101) which I use on Kelly Brook all the time. Extra Lashings of Mascara were added to blend the lashes together. I applied the lipstick, Daniel Sandler’s Micro bubble Lipstick, in Pillar box red which is gorgeous. Then I added blusher as I always do this last when applying a strong colour lip. In order not to ‘over or under blush’ you can’t beat Daniel Sandlers Brazilian bronze for this as it’s the best for giving fair skin a healthy glow rather than an orangey one! Contour this under the cheek bones, and to finish off we added this amazing Nails Inc Matte Collection – Gatwick Red!

We caught up with Liz after her makeover shoot and she said this:
“I arrived in the morning with no expectations and a very nervous stomach!! I was immediately put at ease by the lovely people waiting for me! Everyone was making sure I felt comfortable and I felt like I was being treated like a star! I had never done anything like this before, and to be centre of attention and with a heavy emphasis on this being ‘my’ day, made it all so special! And I felt special!
The stylists picked a gorgeous outfit for me (whilst I was blindfolded!) and I was totally at ease in their company and was able to be swept away with all the excitement! I loved working with Kirsty and we made sure we had a good girly giggle whilst filming! Ginni who did my makeup and hair, worked miracles and made me feel like a movie star! I was so impressed with my final look! And more than a little breathtaken!! I loved every minute of the whole experience and would do it all again in a heartbeat! I felt so lucky and it has done wonders for my confidence!
Thank you Very!!!!!!!”
