Metallics are a huge trend this season, they’ve been reinvented, modernised, sharply cut and demurely designed. Whether you’re off to a Christmas party, a date with the boyfriend, or just lunch with the girls there’s a metallic to suit every occasion.
Designers who set the trend this season opted for a warm gold or a cool silver, and blue tones which in my opinion, makes metallic trousers that extra cool and more wearable.
There’s lots of ways to wear this trend, whether it’s a gold top with a pair of black trousers or go for some silver trousers with an oversized knit.
Full on metallic dressses are best for the evenings whilst metallic knits, skirts and accessories are great during the day. To make your metallics work extra hard, choose simple and clean silhouettes that are sharply cut as these will easily take you from day to night. Still metallic shy? Bags and shoes are a perfect and easy way to tap into the trend.
Love Label Slouch Metallic Jumper – Metallic oversized knits are so easy to wear and more importantly, very on trend! Again, easy to dress up or down. I team mine with skinny jeans or a pair of chinos by day and sassy shorts and cute mini skirts by night.
Love Label Metallic Chiffon Sleeve T-Shirt – Perfect for those who don’t want to go for a full on metallic. Delicate, subtle yet still on trend.
Elements / Amanda Wakeley Long Sleeve Batwing Dress – Who said metallics can’t be glam? This is a perfect example of a sleek evening piece.
South Metallic Skinny Jeans – Be brave and channel your inner rock chick.
Love Label Las Vegas Glitter Sandals – I LOVE these, one of my favourite shoes of the season. The heel is not too high making them easy to wear!
