Being from Liverpool I know how much effort goes into dressing for the races – Ladies Day at Aintree is always a sea of ultra-glam girls dressed in all their finery, and the preparation that goes on before hand would make your mind melt – I’ve known girls to start getting ready weeks before! So with the racing season under starters orders I thought I’d pull together a few safe bets that’ll have you looking like a winner (yes, enough of the racing puns now I promise!).
First up is the truly divine Diana Vickers colour block maxi dress – this has got a real sense of class about it and will look fabulous with some Love Label Quetzal Colour Block Mary Jane Wedges to echo the gorgeous orange colour. If you want to let the dress do all the talking just wear it with nude heels, but I think the races is the perfect time to have a bit of fun with your look. Next up is this angelic Love Label One Shoulder Lace Dress, it’ll look amazing with a little bit of tan (or a lot of tan!) and some gorgeous little silver accessories like these Teatro Oriole Platform Diamante Sandals and Diamante Clutch Bag will give it the extra bit of wow factor – ok, so it’s not going to be the warmest dress at the course, but a few glasses of champers will sort that out!
My final pick is this completely-OMG Elements/Amanda Wakeley One Shoulder Maxi Dress, the cut is beautiful and the bold colour will make it stand out from the crowd – if you want to do the full race day look then this Jacques Vert Fascinator will top it all off to perfection – just add a little clutch for your lippy and betting slips!
So if you’re looking forward to a day at the gee-gees let me know what you’re planning on wearing by commenting below – or if like me you’re just spectating from afar (I’m too low-maintainance!) let me know what you’re up to instead, and I’ll get rummaging through our rails to see what style hotness I can find for you!
