The Voice Live Shows: Hits And Misses

It was the first week of The Voice’s live shows and that meant we were treated to another double bill that saw two artists axed from the competition. We’re now down to 18! The final prize of a £100,000 prize and a recording contract with Universal is getting closer for the remaining singers, which means the atmosphere on set is getting tense.

The situation is also tough for the makers of The Voice because now we’re down to the live shows, what really makes it different from the X Factor? One answer is the talent of The Voice’s contestants. We have some extra gossip about the finalists we’re all talking about this weekend.

Joelle Moses

She straightened out her corkscrew curls, put on a stunning orange dress and performed like Mary J Blige on Saturday night. She opened the show with Mary’s I’m Going Down and you couldn’t fault a note, yet she ended up in the bottom two on Sunday night. Did people forget to vote? After the show, we can reveal that she put on a brave face, telling everyone she felt like she had to “keep fighting because anything worth having is worth fighting for.” We hope she does better next round.

Ruth Brown

Ruth, who was famously rejected from the X Factor twice, showed off her unique style in an eye-catching yellow dress. Ruth’s doing this for her dad, who passed away shortly before her auditions. This show means so much to her. We wish her all the best!

Tyler Brown

A friend of Amy Winehouse, Tyler has really impressed the judges by his ability to reach the high notes. Due to his skinny jeans and boyish good looks, he’s earned himself a few female fans already – there’s been girls waiting for him at the TV studios.

Matt and Sueleen

It was almost the end of this couple’s journey as they found themselves in the bottom two. Tom Jones saved them over larger than life Sam Buttery as he said they had more character. They have certainly got more hair and Matt has argued with producers who want him to trim his shoulder length hair and beard. He’s staying firm, but let’s see whether he will bow to pressure as the episodes continue.

Frances Wood

The 18-year-old put on a fantastic show with sexy male backing singers. She looked like a real rock chick in her tight skinny jeans and she has an excellent attitude, being one of the first to try and cheer up singer Sophie Griffin, who was eliminated. She could go all the way.

There’s another double bill next weekend when two more acts will be eliminated. Let the drama continue!
