The votes are in and a record has been set – a dancing dog has won Britain’s Got Talent. This must make the clever pooch called Pudsey one of the wealthiest dogs in the world as he won a prize of £500,000.Let’s hope his owner Ashleigh gets him a few doggy treats!
Very can also reveal that Simon Cowell was a big winner on the night as the two and a half hour marathon episode drew in a massive 13.8 million viewers at its peak. It only got 9 million last year so it’s a further ego boost to Simon showing when he comes back to the panel and gets rid of David Hasselhoff, the viewers tune in again!
However, the fact that there are now two stunning female judges on the panel is also a huge incentive to tune in. You can never tell what Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden will wear but you always know they will both be super feminine and generally fabulous. The night before the final there was a big party where Alesha looked stunning in a going out maxi dress in silver with a split leg, while Mandy went for a gold dress and gold shoes. The following night, Amanda was still in gold and cream in a gorgeous embellished maxi dress. And Alesha looked sensational in a sequin corset with a see-through chiffon slip over the top. Alesha revealed to us that she hasn’t been signed up for next year’s series yet but her clever fashion choices must be helping show producer Simon Cowell make a decision. How could he turn down someone so dazzling?
THE WINNERS: Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey
THE RUNNERS-UP: Opera singers Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli
THE FASHION: Gold and silver. Did the judges take inspiration from last week’s Met Institite Costume Gala?!
It’s a shame that’s the last we’ll see of BGT for a while but next week we’ll have more news from the BBC’s rival, The Voice. Television’s great right now!
