The uber glamorous Kim Kardashian visited London last week but she did not come alone – the whole of the crew of Keeping Up With The Kardashians were following and filming every moment. Have you ever wondered what it’s like behind the scenes of the E! reality TV show phenomenon? Dressed in my brightest multi-colour dress to get noticed, I did a bit of investigating:
Scene 1: The Rose Club, Oxford Street
I was invited to be part of a scene where Kim celebrates launching her new perfume True Reflections. She’d done a Meet and Greet with fans at a department store earlier in the day and this scene was meant to be a nightclub party. However, you can’t expect cameras to capture a real nightclub so there was a lot of staging going on. The scene was filmed at 6.30pm – not exactly party time. And to make sure it looked like people were drinking, the free cocktails all contained the green melon liqueur Midori. The drink did make people relax, which was a relief as the producers kept telling us all to scream!
It was all worth it when a few people were invited onto the stage to ask Kim about the inspiration for her scent. She exclusively told me that it contained something called chocolate orchid as well as peach and the aim was to create a fragrance that made an impression on people. Well, she’s certainly done that on Kanye who’s been by her side for most of her London trip… She’s a smart woman and she looked as good as she smelled in a red skirt and a black lace top. You could get something similar at Very with a South linen pencil skirt and Love Label lace vest.
Scene 2: The Renaissance Hotel, Kings Cross
The second party was bigger and better as Kim turned up to the Renaissance Hotel to see her face projected on the side of the building! She was there to promote her range of diet milkshakes, Quick Trim, and the cameras filmed her talking about her love of a regular detox. She took time out to meet competition winners and then she was filmed having a chat with the manufacturers who developed the product. It was all very diet related and Kim did an outfit change after the first party into a bodycon black dress to be a fantastic walking advert for Quick Trim.
If you’re looking for a gorgeous black going out dress, try the Lipsy peplum diamante dress.
The show will be on air later in the summer and I’m hoping they don’t edit me out! Stay tuned for more Kardashian updates as soon as I hear it.
