How to do Wimbledon On and Off Court

Now we’re knocked out of the Euro’s it’s out with the beer and in with the Pimms, Wimbledon is here! Celebs are arriving in their droves, Murray Mound is gathering momentum, drinks are flowing and players are, urm, playing. Things are getting very glamorous down in South London so if you’re a fan, here’s what you need to get set for the Wimbledon lifestyle, on and off court.

Off Court

Whether you follow Murray from Open to Open or you don’t know your aces from your elbow, when a Wimbledon spectator, a tennis worthy outfit you must have.

Chances are you’ll be sitting in the sun all day washing down strawberries with several glasses of champagne. You will need big sunglasses and Ray-Ban Teardrop Aviators will fit right in with Centre Court folk. A Straw Bowler Hat is essential too for looking stylish and masking any impromptu napping.

Unless you’ve got VIP access, you’re looking at hours of queuing on your feet which mean that comfort has to come in somewhere. We think your feet deserve it most so team these Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Plimsolls with a white floaty South Strappy Dress and you’ll be suitably sport chic.

Take these with you: a bottle of water, cucumber sandwiches, sun cream, binoculars, rain poncho, camera, I heart Murray banner, snacks, something to read while you queue, spare pair of socks and your best cheering voice!

On Court

Despite all that urm, groaning, the women’s matches are really inspiring to watch. What better way to do Wimbledon than to throw yourself into the game itself.

Maria Sharapova we ain’t but we’ll give it a damn good go. You need clothes that can handle sweat – ok, so not as glam as our Wimbledon spectators but it will happen and you’ll need sportswear that can deal with it. This Nike Baseline Tennis Knit Tank and Nike Tennis Power Knit Skirt are a great start.

Ladies, the last thing you need when you’re bounding from the baseline to return a drop shot is unruly boobs. Get unwavering support with the Shock Absorber Max Sports Bra Top.

If you’re taking up a racket for the first time then do it with this Wilson Venus and Serena Tennis Starter Set containing a lightweight racket, two tennis balls and water bottle. A beginner’s bargain at £30.

Don’t forget to drink your Robinsons!
