This Week in Fashion: Dark Romance

This Week In Fashion we are taking a look at the new Gothic trend, Dark Romance.  This season sees Goth go Glam!  Think girly, romantic and glamorous. Lets have a sneak peak at some behind the scenes action from the day!

The Gothic trend we’ve seen in the past is a lot harder and more masculine but Autumn/Winter 12 saw this trend re-worked .  There were two key elements which gave it that new elegant feel…Leather and Lace!

The first look I put together focused on Lace. Here I layered the Love Label PU Lace Skater Dress with the South Bodycon Lace Panel Top. The skater dress is a great figure-fixing piece, it’s nipped in at the waist to give shape and the skater style skirt skims the hips.

Pairing the two items together is a versatile way to get two looks out of one dress or top.  Taking inspiration from the Dolce & Gabanna Autumn/Winter catwalk I finished the look by adding an Ann Summers Lace Eye Mask as a headband.  The delicate lace element is the perfect addition to nail this trend.

The second look of the day focused on Leather.  The leather element of the gothic trend makes it tough but glamorous.  With this outfit I wanted to achieve more drama. I paired the Love Label Sequin Blazer with some Miss Sixty Wet look Leggings and finished it off by adding some leather gloves. This outfit is great if you don’t want to fully embrace the trend.

The longer length blazer adds structure to any shape without making it boxy and opting for a leather trouser to update your wardrobe will take you all through the Autumn/Winter season.

This trend is an easy one to copy, whether you go all out and mix up the different fabrics and textures or just do a simple wardrobe update and add in one key piece. As long as its luxe, elegant and black there is no reason why you shouldn’t be a glamorous Goth this Autumn!!
