It was Love And Heartbreak week on X Factor and for Scottish country singer Melanie Masson it was real heartbreak as she lost in the public vote on Sunday night. It caused yet another tantrum for Gary Barlow who’s in charge of the over 28’s category as now two of his acts have been voted out after the judges went to deadlock and relied on the public vote. There are rumours Gary may quit the show if it keeps going to deadlock but as always on X Factor it’s difficult to distinguish the hype from the truth. Here’s some exclusive backstage gossip I found out this week.
Rylan Clark performed a mix-up of hits including Gangnam Style by Psy making Gary Barlow groan out loud. Rylan’s confidence has been knocked by the banter with Gary Barlow and he has taken all the nasty comments he’s received seriously so last week he actually called up his friend Katie Price to come to his hotel room and cheer him up. Rylan won Katie Price’s model search TV show last year…could she maybe change his luck this week?
It wasn’t just the sequins on Ella Henderson’s dress that were sparkling on Saturday night as her performance of Minnie Riperton’s classic Lovin You moved the audience to tears. The 16-year-old said she has never had a long term boyfriend before but she is definitely getting close to George from Union J in the X Factor house, despite claiming on the show they were ‘just good friends’. Watch this space!
In the words of Louis Walsh, Jade Ellis looked like a ‘sophisticated lady’ in her maxi dress as she sung Amy Winehouse’s Love Is A Losing Game. This week Jade has also been in the headlines as people are speculating that she is getting close to Charlie from the MK1 group but that’s not the case. The biggest love right now in Jade’s life is her daughter.
James Arthur put on the most dramatic performance of the X Factor despite singing Mary J Blige’s hit No Drama. He got a standing ovation and all the judges’ comments were positive and then he collapsed after the show! I’m told it was nerves and exhaustion and after a good night’s rest he recovered. How will he cope as the competition progresses?
He’s growing in confidence every week, Jahmene Douglas is blossoming. He says he has never been in love but as he sung Tears Dry On Their Own by Amy Winehouse he put some emotion in it. I can also reveal he wont be single for long as he’s started getting lots of Twitter messages from adoring girls and even letters at the X Factor hotel in central London. Let’s hope he finds someone special soon.
Let’s see what happens next week. If an Over 28 is out again, will Gary really walk? I hope not.
