This Week In Fashion: Sparkle & Shine

This Week In Fashion we are looking at the metallic trends.  With the party season upon us it is time to sparkle and shine!!  Embellishment, sequins and baroque, the catwalks saw it all!  Lets take a peak at some behind the scenes action from the day.

The first look of the day saw us tackle the Winter White trend.  This is a look best done simple, think cool colours, clean lines and shiny fabrics.  I paired the Love Label PU Pencil Skirt with this white South Metallic Jumper.  The pencil skirt is very figure hugging so pair with a loose top to keep it casual.  Curvier women should opt for a more fitted top to emphasise the waist.

To finish the look I added these Love Label Flare Heel Peep Toe Shoes, an easy way to nod to the trend without going top-to-toe metallic.

The second look of the day saw us work a big trend from the season; Baroque.  Embroidered luxe fabrics, rich golds and embellishments gave this Baroque trend an air of over-the-top glamour.

I layered the Teatro Metallic Jacquard Tunic Dress over the South Stud Collar Shirt and the Jameela Jamil Prom Tutu Skirt.  The shift style shape of the dress is great for women who are a similar sized top and bottom, it will skim your body and follow your curves in all the right areas.  It is important to remember to pile on the texture, with this look more is definitely more.

I added the Spike Statement Necklace and to finish I paired with the Fearne Cotton Crosby Mesh Boots for instant cool credentials.

The third and final look of the day focused on Glitter & Sequins.  This is big news for Autumn/Winter 12 and was our chance to go all out with the sparkles!!  Here I paired the Love Label Peplum top with the French Connection Ozlem Sequin Trousers.  The peplum top is perfect for emphasising your waist and skimming those hips, a great figure fixer for every winter wardrobe!  Girls with a larger top half should opt for a dark colour.  The leggings are a great piece to invest in, wear sparkle on sparkle to really embrace the trend or pair with a simple black top for a more toned down look.

With so many options there is no excuse, you shall sparkle and shine in the winter season!!  Whether its over-the-top glamour or cool winter white there is something to suit everyone.  Take a look at This Week in Fashion trend video for more tips on how to work the metallic look.

Love Jess!
