The X Factor has a new winner! James Arthur is the new champion, beating Jahmene Douglas in a tense final show. Both contestants really deserved to win but James had been a favourite from the beginning. Practically every celebrity that performed on the show has been backing him – from Rita Ora to JLS to Robbie Williams. They all rate him.
I’m told James will be using the opportunity to release songs he wrote while he was living in his bedsit in the North of England. So unlike last year’s winners Little Mix we’ll see an album a lot quicker as he has the songs ready to go. I’ve also got a bit of gossip about some of the other finalists:
One thing is for sure, Jahmene will not be going back to work at Asda. He’s agreed to go on the X Factor tour and after that plans to spend some time writing music. Jahmene, unlike James, doesn’t have much of his own material already and now the show is over he’s vowed to change that. Good luck, Jahmene!
Single mother Jade is already in talks with a record label who want to turn her into the next Rihanna. She’s done a couple of nightclub PAs since her stint on the show but she is limiting her exposure as she wants to make a big impact when she comes out with her album. Smart girl!
Ella looked overjoyed as she got back on stage with Union J. The 16 year old is currently in a dilemma – does she return to school or does she see what the year brings in terms of gigs and collaborations. The second option sounds more likely…
And let’s not forget about the guest performers. Emeli Sande wowed everyone by playing her latest song Clown and playing the piano. She looked very grown up and sophisticated in a smart black dress, showing you don’t always need to flash the flesh to look hot. Rihanna, on the other hand, would look hot if she was wearing a bin bag. It was a quite masculine look for her with her short hair and black trousers but she pulls it off with style. Go Ri, Ri!
Do you think the right person won this year?
