Coronation Street swept the boards at the Soap awards this weekend, with Michelle Keegan being one of the night’s special successes. The stunning actress, who plays barmaid Tina Mcintyre in Corrie, won Sexiest Female for the fifth year running. No wonder her boyfriend Mark Wright accompanied her to the awards ceremony in Salford’s Media City. The gold dress she wore for the event showed off her fabulous figure in all it’s glory.WOW!
And it was not just Michelle who dressed up for the occasion. I’ve rounded up some of the outfit highlights below as well as all the gossip about who won what. Surprisingly Eastenders only won one award and that was a lifetime achievement for Adam Woodyatt (who plays Ian Beale). Bet the cast were in bad moods when they headed back down to London – or Walford – the following day!
But let’s look on the bright side as Rachel Bright who plays Poppy Meadows in Eastenders had one of the cutest, summeriest outfits of the night. How pretty is her yellow dress?
And talking of bright, one of Coronation Street’s winners Natalie Gumede shone in a red mini dress. Natalie won an award for Best Dramatic Performance as she played a violent and man-beating character in the soap. You wouldn’t think it given how lovely she looked in her party dress!
Nikki Sanderson, who has just joined the cast of Hollyoaks, dressed to get attention in a gold maxi dress. If there was an award for show-stopping dress then she’d be nominated – better luck next year, eh?
Claire Cooper, Nikki’s Hollyoaks co-star, did have better luck on the night. She won an award for Best Actress for her portrayal as Jacqui McQueen and it came at the perfect time as she’s leaving the soap. Talk about ending on a high- classy and elegant in a black dress.
And finally, the bravest outfit of the night was from Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent. It’s difficult to pull off a trouser suit, especially at an awards ceremony, but Brooke owns it with tons of attitude, killer heels and a dash of red lipstick. A winning combination…in terms of fashion if not awards.
