Wow! What a night! The launch party for Very’s new Definitions range attracted celebrities from TV, film and music, who all gathered together in the fashion mecca Somerset House to browse the new clothes over cocktails and canapes. It was all very sophisticated, just like the Definitions range itself.
I felt like I got a bit of a work out at the party as I made it my mission to speak to as many celebrities as possible about their fashion picks for Autumn and about what kind of things they’re up to right now. Everyone was in such great spirits, suggesting that the new Definitions range is going to be so popular! Laura Whitmore, who hosted the evening, chose to wear a Definitions mono animal print top and as you can see below, it really helps her to stand out so everyone knows it was her party.
The last time I saw Laura was at the V Festival when she visited the Very area in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge and she said she is settled back at her MTV job after a summer of festivals and Ibiza (lucky girl). But how did she stay in shape with all the travelling? ‘I eat clean.’ she revealed. Laura is a vegetarian and a lot of the canapes at the event were chosen so she could eat them – red peppers in filo pastry, quails eggs and mushroom pate on mini bagels showed veggie food can be tasty!
Another girl who was in great shape was ex Made In Chelsea star Kimberly Garner, who is launching a new fashion blog. She was the first celebrity I spotted at the event so we posed for a photo outside. As the Definitions range is brand new to Very, I haven’t had time to shop the range yet so I wore Lipsy.
There were so many celebrities at the party that I have to group the photos together or you’d be scrolling down this blog post forever. All looking cute and girly were Kara Tointon (below left), Lydia Rose Bright (centre) and DJ Alice Levine (left). Lydia told me that she was still in pain after having to be rushed to hospital last month for getting glass in her foot. Ouch! Always make sure you have some ballerina shoes or flats in your bag for the journey home…
TV presenters Donna Air (left), Electa Formosa (centre) and Zoe Hardman (right) all get their legs out on the night and why not? They’ve all looked gorgeous! Zoe told me her secret was Barry’s Bootcamp gym in London, where she works out three times a week. The new series of Take Me Out is coming up so she needs to get TV ready. Meanwhile I asked Electra what her fave item from the new Definitions collection was and she told me she was loving the maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are great for Autumn, aren’t they?
Millie Mackintosh (left), and actresses Katherine Kelly (centre) and Olivia Grant (right) really brightened up the party. Olivia said she was suffering slightly as she was out the night before at a fashion event and she was off to another party after ours. I love her energy!
Talking of energy, YouTube sensation Tanya Burr has it in spades. Of course, I asked her for make-up trends for the next season and her advice is: ‘I’m loving Olivia Palermo right now. I think next season is all about the classic, understated look. A bit of mascara, a swish of eyeliner and then smooth, flawless skin. If you get these three elements right it’s all you need. You don’t always need to have a make-up bag filled with products before a night out if you get the basics right.’ She did look pretty amazing, so I think I’ll be taking this advice. I need some eyeliner!
What was really special about the Definitions event is that there was pleasure for all senses. After looking at and touching the clothes and tasting the canapes and cocktails, our ears got treated to an intimate set from rising star Lianne La Havvas. Prince has named her as one of his fave live acts and after seeing her for myself, I’m not surprised. She writes most of her tunes herself too.
Now don’t forget to check the Very website to see the new Definitions range to find out what all the fuss is about!
