The pressure is always on to look glam at the Attitude magazine awards as the magazine’s typical readership has one attitude when it comes to fashion – the more fabulous the better. The awards are held every year in the classical setting of the Royal Courts of Justice and there’s a champagne reception followed by a banquet so it’s really not the sort of event where you can turn up looking scruffy. Thankfully none of the female guests disappointed, slipping into stunning party dresses to give it their all.
Four guests in particular stood out for me in their black dresses and this is why:
Abby’s black maxi dress was very cool as it had sheer mesh panels so it looked like she’d been slashing it away. Her legs go on forever and now she’s doing Strictly Come Dancing she’s more toned than ever so she might as well show off more of her figure than in a more traditional maxi dress. However, Abbey said the dancing hadn’t caused her to lose weight but gain it as she felt she had more muscles. She’s a strong woman – I wouldn’t like to get on the wrong side of her!
I love how Laura Whitmore always gets it exactly right when it comes to fashion. Her little black dress is quite short but she gets away with it as the neckline is high – she’s working the rule of showing off your legs or your bust but not both. Later in the night, I spotted Laura on the dancefloor once the awards were finished. She’s filming a new TV show right now too – where does she find her energy?
Ellie is looking rather slender right now and showed it off with a maxi dress that revealed her tiny waist. I had to ask her secret and she said she has always done jogging every day but had recently changed her routine to incorporate sprints and had started taking workout classes at London gym Barrys Bootcamp. That sounds hardcore!
Myleene’s black dress was the most detailed of the night. It was slightly see through but she did keep her lovely soft leather jacket on for a lot of the night. It’s a busy time for Myleene right now as she hosts the classical Brits, she does radio and TV and designs a gorgeous clothes collection but she doesn’t hold back when it comes to making herself more glam. I think she could be superwoman!
In terms of awards, Ellie Goulding won Best Music, Daniel Radcliffe won Best Actor, Paul O’Grady won Best Icon, Pixie Lott’s boyfriend Oliver Cheshire won Best Groomed, Long Jump Athlete Greg Rutherford won most active and Cher won the Legend award.
And that’s it until next year!
