Ronan Keating And His Family Host Emeralds And Ivy Ball

When the host of a party is Ronan Keating, you can guarantee that there will be a good group of celebrities in attendance. The Boyzone singer opened up his contacts book for the Emerald and Ivy charity ball in London in aid of Cancer Research UK and brought out his whole family (bless!) as well as his Boyzone bandmates, Emma Willis, Christine Bleakley, Vanessa Feltz, Lizzie Cundy, footballer Alan Shearer, ice skaters Torvill and Dean and a few gorgeous models. It was a glam affair but there was a real reason for it as Cancer Research is a cause close to Ronan’s heart as his mother died from breast cancer and Ronan gave a moving speech during the event. There were a few tears!

The dress code for the ball was black tie, which means pressure for everyone to dress up.It was maxi dress central! First up, Ronan’s girlfriend Storm Ueschwitz (below) did him proud in a striking red maxi dress. She knew that everyone would be coming up to her man during the event so she had to give him a reason to make him look at her.

I also got a chance to catch up with the gorgeous new  Big Brother host and TV presenter Emma Willis.

Emma, who looked as gorgeous as ever in a chic black dress, revealed her next major job was host of the next series of The Voice, which will hit TV screens in January. With Kylie replacing judge Jessie J and Kaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson replacing Danny O’Donohue, Emma warned we’re in for some major shocks in terms of their personalities. Sounds intriguing!

Also a busy girl is Christine Bleakley, who took over MC duties for the ball. She dressed to command attention in an embellished blue dress that flattered her figure in all the right places.

Christine’s also got a busy start to 2014 with another series of Dancing on Ice. I asked if she’d been skating on any of the new Christmas rinks but she hasn’t yet. Shame! Ice skating is one of the things that really makes me feel festive. It’s up there with satsumas, advent calendars and mistletoe!

And talking of festive, you also need a Christmassy track on the radio. I asked Boyzone if they’d ever do another one. Their answer was ‘never say never’ . This makes me optimistic…Are you in the Christmas party spirit yet? If you have a black tie ball, I hope I’ve given you some inpsiration about what to wear.
