Happy New Year! If you thought 2014 was a good year in terms of celebrity news and fashion then I have some good news – get ready for more excitement, parties, glamour and gossip in 2015.
What I like about the Showbiz world is that everything has to be better, more sparklier and more decadent each year. Every year the Oscars after-parties go on later and there’s more entertainment, better refreshments and the stars really do wear more attention grabbing gowns in colours like red and gold with flattering cuts rather than a straight maxi shape. All this leads me to predict that 2015 will have better versions of the events we had in 2015 plus I’m also expecting some special premieres (including 50 Shades of Grey).
This is what you need to mark in your diaries.
(1) People’s Choice Awards (above) – 7 January 2015
As you can see from the photo above of Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Jessica Alba, this event attracts stars from music and film. Last year, the celebs brightened up January in white dresses but I can’t wait to see what the trend is this year.
(2) Fifty Shades of Grey premiere – early Feb 2015
How hot is Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey? I cannot wait to see him on the big screen. We’ll also be seeing Rita Ora playing Christian’s sister. I wonder how it will compare to the book?
(3) Bafta Awards – 8 February 2015
The BAFTAs gets more and more A’list every year with Brangelina on the red carpet in 2014. Angelina was the first female celeb to wear a trouser suit at an event as we later saw it on Rihanna and Jessie J.
Maxi dresses are always the theme at the Oscars but the actresses seem to look more groomed every year. Who do you think looked best out of Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita N’yongo and Cate Blanchett? Personally, I love JLaw’s red dress!
(5) Brit Awards – 25 February 2015
Rita Ora stole the show at the BRITs in her yellow maxi dress. It’s the British music industry’s main event of the year and I don’t even know how it can get better but I’m excited to find out.
(6) London Fashion Week
Fashion week is the best time of the year as there’s so much inspiration crammed into a few days. Plus we get to see the trends before anyone else. Last fashion week, Fearne Cotton hosted an incredible fashion show, which was circus themed. Wait and see what happens next time round.
(7) Met Ball Costume Institute Gala Ball – 4 May 2015
The Met Ball will be forever known as the event before the ‘lift incident’ when Beyonce’s sister Solange assaulted Jay-Z and Beyonce did nothing because she didn’t want to ruin her dress. I can sort of understand it as it is a pretty special black maxi dress.
(8) Glamour Magazine Women Of The Year Awards – June 2015
All the coolest women turn up for this one, just like the lovely Fearne Cotton. That’s because they’ve all been interviewed or written for the magazine. It’s held in a glam marquee in the middle of a posh London square so it’s one of the highlights of the summer.
(9) MTV Video Music Awards – 23 August 2015
With Beyonce, JLo, Demi Lovato, Iggy Azalea and Demi Lovato, this is one A’list event. Check out the splits on those maxi dresses! Maybe next year will be all about the jumpsuits / playsuits as the maxi dress trend has been worked to its full effect now.
(10) Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards – December 2015
The Saturdays looked stunning in maxi dresses at this event, which is full of strong and successful women. Not only is it an excuse to show off their best party dresses, its nice for the celebs to celebrate what women can do. Girl power! I always leave the event on a high, as it shows the power of what its possible to do as long as you don’t give up!
Have you marked that all in your diary now? We’ll have all the behind the scenes gossip and photos for you just hours after the events have taken place.
